I assumed as much. My tongue was planted firmly in my cheek with that post. However, I do have this idyllic picture of where you are and will keep it in my mind. Given the truth and an idealized fantasy version of the truth, I'll often willingly go with the fantasy.
Hey Morgan good to see you. The sickening irony of it is that the same people who demanded the 09-11 Comission NOW are doing everything they can to ressurect the same exact legalistic mindset that created the Gorelick's wall in he first place (NSA Story, Terrorist Finace story, CIA "Secret Prison" story etc"
LOL...actually, this girl would LOVE for a whole bunch of snow to be delivered to north Texas....I miss it a LOT, from all of the years growing up in Colorado.
#197,excellent post Rodguy. Giving people a lesson in what it is like to be a responsible Adult in an area that is susceptible to disasters. After Hurricane Andrew there were so many people that had their homes destroyed, but they had no Insurance at all,and the Feds came in and rescues their sorry butts. They had no Insurance, but had thousands of Dollars worth of Toys,Tens of thousands of Dollars worth of New Furniture, and Brand New Cars. The cost to insure their home then was a pittance compared to now,and they did not do it. They are users, and need to be told that the Government using yours and my tax dollars are not going to be spent to save their irresponsible butts.
I've been "grazing" the thread, not reading posts in detail (really, that's all I've been doing... honest). I haven't seen anyone comment on the fact that Donald Powell, who was supposed to be on Fox and CNN, overslept and missed at least the Fox appearance.
Not a good sign.
Boy are you right about the FR Fight Club...sheesh, I think these are even different folks than the ones that were inhabiting the "immigration/border control" threads...yikes.
BTW..I agree to an extent with Nagin, re: New York...
I seem to remember a LOT of arguing..and some STILL because the families of the 9/11 victims, (some of them) are upset that more of the area isn't going to be left alone as a memorial...blah, blah.
Oh...I hear you...
Not a week goes by up here in the Dallas area...that some crime is committed...and part of the storyline is that the perp is a New Orleans "refugee"...
I think you should cut Fox a LITTLE bit of slack..at least up until Steve and Olaf are completely out of the ME..
Brian Wilson on Fox has stated 2-3 times today that they have all wanted to "say a lot" during this time...but have been told they couldn't..
IF Fox News continues to act the same after they leave, as they did while in captivity, then there may be a problem...but I think you are a little premature in your criticism...
I will JOIN you in your complaints..if they don't stop after today...okay?
Thank you AB!
Thanks for your feedback--glad you like it. Did that the other night when Nagin was mouthing off again.
The head of FEMA did well for himself this morning....I pity him though if another catastrophe hits.
People had fun slamming Brown after Katrina, but he actually did an outstanding job. It will be no different for this guy, especially as this is an election year.
We are about 40-50 miles south of the projected hit right now. Truth is I like to chart these things after they have gone over land. And in this case possible land and mountains.
Mountains tend to totally disorient storms so I am kind of in a wait and see mode. Fortunately my biggest job will be to close the shutters.
OH that it would actually happen that way. I really think that at least half the govts. lust to help hurrincane "victims" is based on getting re-elected.
I figured Landrieu was wrong...thanks for letting me know.
