Tony Blair's lack of leadership and timid subservience to George W Bush lie behind the ongoing crisis in Iraq and the worldwide threat of terrorism, according to the former American president Jimmy Carter.
"I have been surprised and extremely disappointed by Tony Blair's behaviour," he told The Sunday Telegraph.
"I think that more than any other person in the world the Prime Minister could have had a moderating influence on Washington - and he has not. I really thought that Tony Blair, who I know personally to some degree, would be a constraint on President Bush's policies towards Iraq."
In an exclusive interview, President Carter made it plain that he sees Mr Blair's lack of leadership as being a key factor in the present crisis in Iraq, which followed the 2003 invasion - a pre-emptive move he said he would never have considered himself as president.
Mr Carter also said that the Iraq invasion had subverted the fight against terrorism and instead strengthened al-Qaeda and the recruitment of terrorists.
"In many countries where I meet with leaders and private citizens there is an equating of American policy with Great Britain - with Great Britain obviously playing the lesser role.

Oh yeah, Jimmah is a good one to talk about "lack of leadership".
Not quite as "Compliant and subservient" as Mr. Peanut was to the Ayatollah. I believe he called Carter "the headless chicken."
Ooohh!Ohhhhh! Over here someone notice me!
(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )
It makes me ill to know that my tax dollars pay for Secret Service protection of Carter as he travels the world with his treasonous talk. We certainly owe coverage to all of our past presidents, but Carter seems to have abdicated what is expected on any Commander in Chief.
When old presidents talk like crazy people over a long period of time they put them in old peoples homes. Don't they?
The main conflict between human rights and U.S. interests came in Carter's dealings with the Shah of Iran. The Shah had been a strong ally of America since World War II and was one of the "twin pillars" upon which U.S. strategic policy in the Middle East was built. However, his rule was strongly autocratic, and he went along with the plan of the Eisenhower Administration to depose Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953. Though Carter praised the Shah as a wise and valuable leader, when a popular uprising against the monarchy broke out in Iran, the U.S. did not intervene. The Shah was subsequently deposed and exiled.

I suspect that Old Coot Cawtah can not even dress himself.
I've looked on many women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times. God knows I will do this and forgives me.

JIMMY CARTER, speech, Jan. 11, 1980
jimma's lust is not for women..it is for some positive place in american history, which will never happen...he knows that although God will forgive him...the american public will never and will only view him as the worst president in history...but he will be remembered as the founder to giving life to terrorism with his handling of terrorism in Iran in 1979!!!!
Blair's response to Carter should be "Shut up Mr. Peanut. You're not president anymore!"
But,of course, he won't.
The irony is too thick to describe here (Jimmah laying it on w/ a large shovel).
But for Jimmah's ineptitude in allowing these very same islamo fascists to take over Iran in 1979, we would not be facing the level of global terrorism we are today. He turned his back on the Shah in 1979, who was an ally of the US, and allowed Mr. Amedejeededeedededededan and his thugs to take over.
Thanks Jimmah!! Your pathetic lack of leadership is still inflicting damage on western civilization today!!
He's got a real set to be saying anything about Blair. It's a good thing he has so many friends in the France/Germany/MSM crowd.
At least once!
We need a side-by-side photo of Jimmah and Cindy Sheehan. They must be related (not just ideologically).
