They aired David Koresh's whacky interpretaion of the scriptures on the radio trying to get the women and children released in Waco..He,of course, changed his mind and did not release them.
You interpret the tape airing any way you please.. I suggest Fox did it to save two lives.

"Whatever is said in a forced coersion has no meaning to me. It may have meaning in the Islamofascists twisted minds, but not in the rest of the Western world."
Not necessarily true. Many Christian missionaries have sacrificed their lives for their faith and would never denounce their faith and covert to Islam under pressure no matter what. I'm not saying I wouldn't have done what Steve and Olaf did under the same circumstances, but there are Christians who would have refused to allow themselves to be converted. I am not willing to criticize them for what they did, but at the same time I recognize that there are people who would have refused to do what they did.

Do you have a source for that? Nope, other than my word that I saw it in several different sources that I considered credible. I didn't anticipate being deposed, so I wasn't logging the info. :)

Interview with (of all people) Shep and Steve now being played on FOX...Steve describing the actual kidnapping- being taking at gunpoint handcuffed with really tight plastic ties ..very painful..into some kind of garage or warehouse. Thinking they could shoot him at any minute..then thinking no- we're more good to them alive than dead...being struck in the head with something if they tried to sit up. They were not allowed to communicate...

And you think that people will be impressed with a conversion gained at gunpoint. Yes. Many, many mooslimbs will be most impressed. It's a win-win for them. Demonically clever.

They are in a tough situation and might say some stupid things. Don't hold it against them.
I agree. I've had to think about what I'd do in such a situation. I decided that if I were ever kidnapped, I would say whatever stupid things they made me say in order to save my life, no matter how bad it might sound.
I'd retract it all once I was free and in safe territory.

You're being too kind. A common complaint, one to which I am fortunately inured. :)

being struck in the head with something if they tried to sit up.I'm sure that Amnesty International, the Red Crescent/Cross, and peaceniks will be jumping up and down denouncing this treatment of prisoners.

Hi, prairie. Pervert Mohammed is a better name. I'm listening to the "conversion" tape.

People who are in a situation where a gun is placed to their heads and forced to renounce their religion or take up another are smart to do so if it means it will ensure their release.
God knows what is in a persons heart and what they really believe and in the end, that's all that matters.
Now, if Centanni had come out after making that tape praising Allah and demanding a prayer rug, we'd have to look at possible severe stockholm syndrome and/or full mental breakdown over the events. However, one of the first words he used when speaking to Shep Smith was "Thank God".

Someday people will be taking the mark, and saying "I just did it so I could live". And people will be saying .... it's okay.. take the mark, you need to eat, your family needs you, it doesn't really mean anything. And the media will encourage and approve. Demanding that our government make the mark official.

God knows what is in a persons heart and what they really believe and in the end, that's all that matters. You can't support that biblically you know. It's a nice thought though.

FNC said Amnesty International took part in securing their release. Not that I'm surprised they have contacts within terrorist organizations but if they did help secure their release, I'll give them small kudos for it.

I don't disagree with you. The problem for these two guys is, if they want to go back to the same area to do their jobs after denouncing what they did, their lives would be in serious jeopardy. They would not be able to go back to the middle east to work or they would have to keep silent on the subject. Sad position they are in.

Have you noticed that there seem to be charter members of the FreeRepublic Fight Club on this website lately!
No matter the topic, they're the contrarians!
