The Megadeth star is so upset with the UN he's named their new album 'United Abominations.'
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine is so furious with the United Nations (UN), he has named the metal group's forthcoming album 'United Abominations.'
The rocker has joined critics of the UN, who claim the organization has been too slow to respond to the humanitarian crises in countries, such as Sudan and Rwanda.
Mustaine fumes, "I was watching TV and saw the trucks that said UN on them and said, 'Man, you are so uncool, ineffective, anything.'
"I thought, 'Wow, I've got to run with this. I got it - 'United Abominations,' because it's an abomination what they're doing.'"

I listened to that tonight. A band I was in did a cover version of Symphony of Destruction
as an opener in a redneck bar in LaPorte, TX.
We were worried, thought folks would hate it and chunk bottles at us.
They loved it. ;-)

I doubt anyone will buy his album. It looks like he has several CD and concert ticket sales on this thread alone... A FReeper Megadeth bash... I'm in...
To: SoCal_Republican
you could always check out www.livemetallica.com. They have free downloads of concerts going back to the 80's. They add new ones every now and then.

P.S. Megadeth is often found on the Freeper Canteen...

cool kids are getting itHe hasn't been a kid in ages. He may be a good player, I haven't heard him in years, and frankly, no one else has unless they're stuck on bad 80's metal. The message is fine, but the cool kids aren't listening to his stuff. Believe me, I know, I have to deal with the NEW crap they're listening to every day.

Just not as loud as in the dayI've got a 600w Onkyo system that shakes the neighborhood if the mood strikes me... but, I am careful not to encourage the kids to do the same... so I only blast it when the kids are gone...

Seems to me that we should form a "Metal Ping List" - those thrilled when the President said "Ozzy, Mom loves your stuff!".
I second that. My license plates used to read, "MGADTH," in TWO states.

I'm up for a Metal Ping List. 41 years old, still groove to the rippin metal sounds of all varieties from the 80's and early 90's, and even the occasional new song. The first release from Slayer's new album rocks!

It's a done deal then. Just keep in mind that it's rare when anything these folks do is considered news. Metalheads don't flee to Middle Eastern countries to buy children while fleeing American justice.

Lots of great videos at

Have you seen the tight edit job that has the leader of the free world "singing" an old U2 hit?
