I don't remember Mitt Romney EVER being ahead of Teddy Kennedy at any time in his bid for Senator. This is WAY too liberal a state to dump Kennedy. The only way they won't vote for him is after he's dead and isn't running anymore. And some will likely still write him in for old time's sake!

Mitt got about 37% of the vote in that race, if I remember correctly; about the same amount that President Bush got. He won the Governor's race because, while the liberal MA residents may like the Dems' social policies, they don't trust them not to raise their taxes.

Well I certainly do remember it

It forced Kennedy to actually campaign a bit

In fact it was a double digit lead

That is why Milt got so cocky and made that stupid statement
