I went through there on the way to Denver last year. It's grown drastically since the mid-90s.
The people who make up this list are from huge cities and so see medium size cities like Boise and Ft Collins as "small". It all depends on what you're used to. There are people who think that going to Jackson Hole, Wy or Park City, Ut is "roughing it".
Myself, I'd prefer Laramie.. or Sheridan.

I couldn't live in a town with a population over 7,000. By the way, thanks for your service to our country, I know you didn't hear it back then.
