I am glad everything in my toolbox is either stamped Starrett or Brown and Sharp, I hope Mitutoyo gets slapped hard for this.

I guess it's just all about money. Sell equipment that can be used to make equipment for eventual nuclear weapons production to a lunatic regime. To hell with the blow-back possibilities.

Give them a fair trial and if they're found guilty, put 'em up against a wall, shoot them, and feed the bodies to some hungry pigs.

That would be Willian "Sukin Syn" Clinton.

"I guess it's just all about money. Sell equipment that can be used to make equipment for eventual nuclear weapons production to a lunatic regime. To hell with the blow-back possibilities." Nicely put. Lenin was right about the last Capitalist selling the Communist the rope to hang him with. It is likely that the nukes in North Korea now aimed at Japan also were developed with technology provided by these insanely greedy fools.

Oh, and who was President when we busted Libya and uncovered the Japanese fraud?????? Uh....oh yeah. The Cowboy who was supposed to destroy mankind? The Unilateral Guy? He who does not use diplomacy?
If John Kerry or the NY Times would like to apologize now, I'll leave my answering machine on for them.

...everything in my toolbox is either stamped Starrett or Brown and Sharp.I got a 12" Mit dial caliper that only leaves it's case on special occasions. Does that make me a bad person? :-)

No, it is blinkered stupidity. Iran and NorKo are pals and the dolts at Mitutoyo placed their nation at risk. Capitalism is selling stuff on the market and making a profit. This action is selling stuff very shortsightedly without any regard for the negative consequences that will ensue.

Also, this isn't "Free Trade" since the company had to falsify customs documents in order to circumvent trade restrictions.

I still haven't forgiven Toshiba for selling precision software and computers to the USSR.
The software and hardware enabled the USSR to cut propellers for their subs that eliminated cavitation, thereby rendering them much harder to detect.
I refuse to buy anything Toshiba.
Guess I'll add Mitutoyo to my list. ( though it's unlikely that I would be in the market for precision measuring devices.)

OK, I'm nit-picking, but shouldn't this company's name be spelled Mit
sutoyo?
