I wish I had a dollar for every time I've been asked that question. As if weather or not a person is a Muslim has anything to do with the price of tea in China.

With islam, we're being forced to 'do unto them' before 'they do unto us.'

We try to do that little thing called forgiveness.

Some things are unforgivable, like global jihad to kill all infidels and flying planes into buildings. But if you want to forgive them for that that's your prerogative.
