Both the MS and AL gov gave him a list- how many exactly BN of Aviators, Signal, MPs, medics, how much water, MREs, trailers, AN EXACT NUMBER -- they said exaclty what they wanted them to do and what they would do with those they didn't need. BTW - they did not federalize their NG.
They sent it to Bush within minutes when he declare the disaster two days before the storm.
Blanco had NOTHING!!! She had no idea!! Her TAG must be just as incompetant
Hubby printed off the list-- can't find it now -- don't know where he got it.
Also, Blanco had anywhere between 2-4,000 of her guard that she never activated. Never did find out exactly who she didn't call up, the LANG site was down the whole time.
Everytime the NG gave a TV news conference it was run by the FLNG div commander, not the TAG or DAG from LA
