News Flash, Dynamite is a Bomb in itslef. If heated to certain degrees or placed under certain stress levels it can and will explode.
But what the heck, Napolean Dynamite meant no harm.
Again, they dont have a clue, and write it off as a kids harmless no harm mistake.
You can throw sticks of dynamite in a woodburning stove, and they will simply burn, not explode. Needs to be confined to explode.
If you toss a stick of dynamite into a fire it will burn vigorously but not explode. I'm not to sure what you mean by "placed under stress" but dynamite was invented to reduce/eliminate the dangers of handling nitroglycerin. As such it was largely successful. The only problems that I know of occur with frozen dynamite. Ramming frozen stick dynamite into a bore hole can result in a premature explosion. This problem was prevalent when the explosive was compounded by mixing the nitro with sawdust or "Fuller's earth". Modern formulations use nitrocellulose which forms a gel when mixed with nitroglycerin that is more stable then the old mixture which was prone to separation.
