Then the customers of the airlines are going to get tired of it..and complain...and the airlines will be more and more reluctant to divert and force an all over search.. And, THEN, when the airlines are back to their lackadaisical ways....THEN, they will pull one of their plans to take down 10-20 planes..

This has been my thoughts, too. They don't have to get arrested for terrorism to cause disruption and they have plenty of patience. We've already seen just how whiney the idiot passengers can be over security measures. People also think they have this right to know EVERYTHING, like the government is going to share intelligence data with them just so they know there was and is a credible threat.

This also has the added affect of making liberals/media question if the leaders like Blair and Bush are in on some whacko plot to use terrorism as a diversion which undermines the governments efforts on terrorism. On one had they want all the terrorist caught and on the other hand they will crucify you if you stop a potential plot before there are actual dead bodies to prove their was a plot. As you predict, we are going to end up with a lot of planes coming down before it's all over because people will get tired of being on alert all the time and they don't want to trust our government at all because it inconveniences them.

I hunt, so I need overwhelming and withering firepower on every flight.
I do not buy that excuse.

I thought it was a keep sake from a summer internship. Not that taken a stick of dynamite home on a plane is a good idea.

But he got it on board. Think about that.

I hope we are both wrong...but the signs show that we aren't.

The problem is...we need people in Homeland Security and the White House that think like a terrorist...to tell us what their NEXT move might be.

I believe the marshals and DHS are already thinking like that. This is one of the reasons all these reports are coming out. The reports make it clear that we are on the ball, watching for anything strange, and will not hesitate to simply turn the flight around or even abort the takeoff. The Muzzies have probably had to recalibrate all their plots as a result.

Apparently a passenger was on the "no fly list". If so,Why was he allowed to board in the first place?

BBC now confirms flight is American Airlines, reason being that a passenger is on the 'No Fly list' on that flight.

I have a theory.

Any incident that occurs with an American (i.e. Joe Sixpack) is rushed to print with full details as quickly as it can be.

But when the incident has a news blackout, it has to do with Muslim terrorism.

Just a theory.

No, I don't think so. Few details on this have been released so far, and I don't understand why you think that the person involved was an "ordinary American." In general, I think the authorities have been pretty good on revealing the nationality and ethnic background of those involved, although not immediately, until they have determined their immigration status. Sadly, there are many non-ME/SE Asian folk who seem to be rushing to get in on the jihadi bandwagon.

Good theory, Txsleuth. Frankly, I think if they can keep this fiendish behavior up long enough, people will get really tired of it, stop flying and the airlines will reduce fleets and lay off people. That economic damage could be even greater than that caused by actually blowing up planes. And as you say, not one of them would go to jail.

It reminds me a lot of the fake computer virus a few years ago where you were tricked into forwarding the email warning about a virus to all your friends. The "virus" was the flood of email unleashed by all the do-gooders that trustingly forwarded the email, thus slowing down all mail traffic. No real computer virus was ever needed to cause damage.

I agree with you, there were just two on the news a few minutes ago. They are afraid of something. I don't think they think they have all of the perps in the terror threat in custody from what I read.

As I said above Dog, they said before they didn't think they had all of the terrorist suspects in custody from the plot. Maybe they are being extra cautious because of that? Scary stuff to me.

From what I remember about Bin Ladin...I think he was pleased that the World Trade Centers collapsed..when he didn't expect that...

But, what he was disappointed in...was that the attack didn't affect our economy more than it did...

One of his goals is messing up the economy of America...and takes us down that way as well....and I guess Bush's handling of the economy isn't pleasing him.

BUT, what you said...could affect the airlines on a more sustained basis than the immediate aftermath of 9/11.

Actually I didn't think the Chicago thing was an ordinary American. I had in mind how quick the story about dynamite in the luggage of the student returning from Argentina was fully known. Had the returning student been anything other than a white guy from Connecticut, the news would have trickled out.

My theory was simply that little news slowly leaked equals an incident involving a Muslim of some type, not necessarily a terrorist. If you hear of an incident like the Chicago flight, with little news out, it could have a higher likelihood of terrorism involved.

I just think the pc media and/or security officials go way way out of their way to downplay any incident with a Muslim angle of any kind.

Thanks Tim. Its everyones job to Profile when we are on these planes. We know when we see one of them.

We have to be ready to pounce on them until Air Marshals can cuff them. We have to assume no Air Marshalls and incapacitate them. First punch is going to count.

"maybe we ought to start offering mid flight ejections."

Grrrrreat idea, Mr. Chugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't really matter, does it? why they are carrying something dangerous, or why they are acting dangerous, they present a threat. I say, "Eject them". Next?

If it is a Muslim, you bet they keep it quiet, so NY Times cant interview his Family and Friends before Homeland gets the chance to do it first.

If this England to Chicago incident has a Muslim invloved, I bet my life that his contacts in USA are getting a good anal probe now.

If FBI let it out, the Jihad nazis would be destroying evidence with the NY times tip-off, and playing "Im the poor profiled Muslim" card.

What we need is re-con of our own. Citzens going to Mosques to record the Imams spouting their crap, so maybe we can deport them or ID their "favorite sons".

Maybe Italian Americans would be able to slip into a Mosque. Irish, Swedish, Polish - Americans could never do it.

Imagine if we did try, and we found a Jihad Nazi nest?

I just think its time to do what we can, as citizens, to help uncover their nests here before they hit us.
