But .. these are the same people who call Bush "Hitler" along with many other unflattering names like "idiot", etc., without giving it a second thought! Perhaps a long list of quoted remarks, with proper attribution, is the best antidote for this kind of political Koolaid...
Has anyone run across such a list?

Sidarth attended Allen events around the state, videotaping them. This particular one was quite small, less than two hundred?, in southwestern VA. Guess he kinda stood out.

oooohhhhhhhhhpoorbaby, his feelings were hurt. Well get in line. A really accomplished person would hardly have taken a job being a stalker of a political opponent.

That's a great question! I know the RNC used to send me list after list of statements made by the dems - you might check with them and see if they have info we could use.

"Fairfax Native Says Allen's Words Stung" Welcome to the world of politics, Grasshopper...
It only gets worse!
If you're lucky, you will manage to get a class, one day, from James Carville, the gentle soul who invented the "politics of destruction".

I wouldn't have given a rat's behind about this story except for Allen's continuous apologizing. He really is showing weakness.
I remember last year when Sheehan was in the news constantly Allan insinuated himself in the situation by saying the President should meet with her. I shook my head at the time thinking that was stupid. Now this non story has Allen apologizing daily.

Someone kind and so disposed might make him a present of The Art of Political War (and other radical pursuits) by David Horowitz, Spence Publishing Company, 2000.

I remember last year when Sheehan was in the news constantly Allan insinuated himself in the situation by saying the President should meet with her. sigh...let's at least get that one straight, shall we?
He was shown a video by Wolf Blitzer, and Sheehan wasn't identified. Allen said "everyone should be heard, I think the President should meet with her."
During the commercial break, the White House reminded Blitzer and others that the President already had met with her.
When her Sheehanigans became apparent, Allen said she wasn't helping things and he wouldn't meet with her.
At the very worst it was poor interview prep. Not because he agreed with Sheehan.

You nailed that one. Each day I get the Washington Post, and each day I wonder why. We have been subscribers for 33 years, and they get worse. This blowup over Allen's use of the word Macaca is ridiculous. He should have just called him as-hole and been done with it. That way he would have been accurate and only accused of being indelicate. When Vice President Cheney told Senator Leahy to go eff himself it got less reportage. I also agree with Cheney.
It would be impossible for me to count the times I was called a hillbilly because I grew up in Kentucky. Never mind that I grew up two hundred miles from the mountains. It didn't cause any lasting damage, but reading the Post all those years has, I fear. Each day I grow nauseous when I read the editorial and op ed pages.

He should have just called him as-hole and been done with it. But see, that's where people are misreading this. Allen was trying to make a point about the Webb campaign, not trying to ridicule Sidarth's heritage or race or anything else.
He used what he thought was a goofy name for the kid. It was a bad choice of words and it certainly backfired.
But he did not intend to call him a monkey, an a-hole or the n-word.
The man's just not that stupid to say something he knew meant that directly into the camera.

I don't need to. I've known him for over 20 years.
I know people who have traveled with him day in and day out. I know people who were with him at that event.

I think Senator Allen was speaking spanish with a southern drawl. Simply saying the little turd was, "Mah caca" when referring to the opposition's campaign mole.
Now the little twerp has become a Junior Joe Wilson for the media.
