Disgusted by judicial candidate
Lynden Free Press | 08-25-06 | Jennifer Deshaies

I was hoping the "Stephen Johnson for Supreme Court" signs weren't referring to the same Stephen Johnson I'd met. Unfortunately, they were.

Stephen Johnson was the state senator for my legislative district when I lived in and taught in Auburn. After teaching 90 fifth- graders a unit on U.S. government, I did a request through the state Legislature Web site to have a representative come speak. They sent Johnson.

Johnson entered my classroom and stated the following: When asked by a student, what would you change about Washington? His reply: "I'd get rid of all the Democrats." What's the hardest thing about your job? "Having to work with Democrats."

He went on to disparage two of the Democratic congressmen from the district.

This isn't a man who should be on the Supreme Court. It would be impossible for him to be impartial. His hatred and scathing intolerance is so prevalent he felt it appropriate to spew it to a room full of 10-year-olds. By definition, Supreme Court justices need to be impartial, to put aside their personal views and merely interpret the law. I find it hard to believe someone so scornfully biased would be able to do so.

The dem's are very scared of Stephen Johnson, they have even resorted to (surprise, surprise) cheating.

If you are willing and able, there is a way to donate:

Details on how the dem's cheat are here: http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/davidpostman/archives/2006/07/27/

What's the hardest thing about your job?
"Having to work with Democrats."

Can't fault him for being too honest.

Sounds like a good man to me!

Lynden Free Press, huh? Sounds like the WEA Newsletter. I would always use it as a Voter's Pamphlet--Whatever they recommended, I voted the opposite. Is this publication new?

I'm hoping that this liberal letter helps a
worthy candidate generate hundreds of dollars
in new contributions.

He could have been a tad more original and specific in his comments, IMO. He could have referred to "obstructionists", or "people with no solutions".

We always criticize the democrats for having no aganda other than republican/Bush hatred. This guy seems no better (if, in fact, he was quoted correctly).

Ship them off to Cuba or North Korea so that they can exist under the systems they seek to implement here.
