We are. Minor inconveniences, but no major disruptions. Can you imagine if the Britain bomb plot had succeeded...then we'd return to post 9/11 days and empty airports.
My hubby and son just returned from a 10 day trip to Canada. They flew from Florida to Texas to Calgary, had to go through customs and security more than a couple times, but they said the attitude of passengers was upbeat and the planes were full.
We're definitely winning.
P.S. If, and I say if because I think the calls are made by pranksters instead of terrorists, but if the disruptions are caused by terrorists, they can't consider themselves successful because they delay a flight for a few hours.
I've flown alot recently, including twice since the Britain Threat. The extra security is not an inconvenience. Infact, i've found that security lines are actually shorter because people are sure to put anything that might cause question into their checked baggage instead of holding up the carry-on checking lines.
If anything, the extra security is a reminder that we are at war and there are fanatics trying to hit us, the extra security reminds us of terrorism and what are we figthing against, and that America still needs to be on both the offensive and the defensive.
