Well, possession of beer isn't protected by the Bill of Rights.

There are many rights which are not specifically enumerated in the bill of rights. The ninth amendment makes that clear. It is the only topic addressed by that amendment.

Agreed. Would that we all understood the 9th Amendment as you do. Life would be simpler, and the Federal government would be much less intrusive. My only point is that enumerated rights should be clearly protected - and they are certainly not under our current political system. This is particularly true in the People's Republic of Kalifornia where I live.
