That should come as a surprise to no one that understands marketing.

I build my own computers. I am my own tech support. I get the best support whenever I need it.

Apple who? Dell who?

I bought my first iMac used off eBay. When it came, the HD had been wiped clean and there were no software disks or documentation. This seemed rather suspicious to me, so i called Apple to make sure it hadn't been stolen. They checked with the original purchaser, and after determining it hadn't been stolen they said, "Oh, this computer still has six months left on the warranty." They transferred the balance of the warranty to me, and sent me a complete set of disks, including OSX, restore disks, and Appleworks, along with documentation at no charge.

Course, they've made a fortune off me since then, but this was shortly after I spent weeks arguing with Microsoft because one of their download patches locked up my system, and they wouldn't even discuss it with me because I had an OEM version of Windows, so the treatment by Apple put me in shock.
