We have a trip planned to Montana leaving on Aug 31. If this thing is bearing down on Houston I guess we will have to cancel. Today is only Aug. 24th. Do like many Floridians--shutter up the home for storm season and get out of dodge for cooler weather. No need to cancel a spectacular trip to God's Country for a hurricane.

That it is, and it looks like the cap is coming off just in time for the heart of the season. We recently started swinging into a more favorable pattern for storms, and it looks like it could be around for a while.

Yes we could do that. We are in no danger from flooding but we could have a tree come through the roof. What we could do is wait out the storm, if it comes here and causes no damage to our house the electricity will be out for a week. (I know this because it has happened in the past.)
Then instead of staying here with no a/c we will head to Montana and come home when things are back to normal.
