REPORTS FROM AN AIR FORCE RECONNAISSANCE PLANE INDICATE THAT THE TROPICAL WAVE MOVING WESTWARD THROUGH THE WINDWARD ISLANDS HAS DEVELOPED A CLOSED WIND CIRCULATION...AND ADVISORIES ON EITHER A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OR TROPICAL STORM WILL BE INITIATED AT 5 PM AST. MAXIMUM WINDS AT THIS TIME APPEAR TO BE JUST BELOW TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH...BUT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT STRONGER WINDS MAY BE OBSERVED PRIOR TO ADVISORY TIME.

I'll still wait to see if I need to panic or anything. Given I live in NC, and the tracks are going west I'm thinking 'not a good Mexico vacation week' more than anything else.
We've got some oddball weather going on here today already. Not surprised the storm season is kicking up.
We had about 4 inches of rain yesterday, and it has been raining on & off all day here.

Have we had any hurricanes yet? Wasnt this supposed to be the end of the world type hurricane season?? Am I jumping the gun or have things been kind of quiet?
I've noticed that it is generally hotter in the middle part of the day than during the early morning hours and at night. I also noticed that normally, Karl Rove is working...you guessed it...right in the middle of the day when it is hottest!
I think that pretty much proves who's really in charge of global warming...
The Karl Rove hurricane machine comments got old a while ago, but I still keep seeing them! :-/

I have an idea, it involves not clicking on the thread. ;-)
1) There have been no Atlantic hurricanes yet
2) Nobody predicted an end of the world type hurricane season. All professional forecasting organizations forecast a somewhat above average hurricane season, and a season FAR less active than 2005.
3) So far the season is a tad behind average, but the peak of the average season is September 10th - 50% of seasons have their peak of activity AFTER September 10th. For whatever reason people have gotten the idea the peak of the season is the middle of August rather than the middle of September.
I would have hoped that the date/time stamp would have been automatic, rather than being entered manually.
