I have a friend who was in a bicycle accident last night. He landed on his head and is in very bad shape. There is bleeding in the brain and they are not sure if he is going to make it.
Prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Praying in agreement
You've got it. Give us your friend's first name please.
Storming heaven!!
It's Warren. And thanks.
I am an avid cyclist and your friend has my prayers.
Was he wearing a helmet? Riders can still get hurt with a helmet, but a helmet really helps. I am constantly amazed when I see riders without helmets.
So sorry to hear that.
Best to him
Prayers on the way for Warren...
Prayers for your friend.
I wasn't there when it happened and don't know all the details. But I know that it was his habit to wear a helmet. Everytime I saw him on his bike or about to get on his bike he had his helmet on.
But it was a really nasty fall. As it was described to me, something went wrong with his front wheel while he was going really fast and he went over the handlebars. So maybe it wasn't enough to have a helmet.
Prayer sent
BTW, I'm glad you brought up the subject of helmets. This is the second case I know of somebody being severely injured in a bicycle accident. The first was someone I only knew indirectly, and he is a vegetable now.
Hopefully this posting will get more cyclists to wear their helmets.

I have heard about such accidents. My TREK, like most bikes has a rather easy release mechanism that allows quick removal of the front wheel. There is a similar release for the rear wheel, but of course there is a chain around that wheel. Newer bikes are built with more safeguards on the release mechanism for the front wheel.
As another cyclist, prayers for your friend.
Prayers for Warren from a symapthetic mtn biker who's been over the bars before...
Prayers for Warren. I've been looking at road bikes and after seeing this thread I'll make sure to check the front wheel technology.
Adding my prayers.
May God's mercy be with your friend.
God bless him. I hope he recovers as well as my daughter is recovering from HER bicycle accident (level 3 concussion and a life-flight a week ago).
