Fox reported they were arrested and being questioned about "suspicious cell phone usage", that seems to indicate that there was some seriousness to the situation to me!

Just the fact they released the names shows that it was a serious situation. If it were all a misunderstanding and no real harm was intended why would they release the names? You usually release a name before they are going to be charged with something. If it is just a misunderstanding the authorities usually try to protect their privacy.

Airline passengers have it in their hands to do just that. If fifty folks on each flight stood up for themselves and got the muzzies tossed off, the more that happens, the safer it will be. Not necessarily nicer, but safer.

I hate to see Americans turn ugly, but if the TSA won't keep the idiots from flying, the people must.

I've noticed that several of the recent scares end with statements like "it's all a terrible misunderstanding" or words to that effect. Could this be a campaign of disinformation to put the general public at east while informing the plotters "we got your boys."

From what I understand, as the plane was taking off and right after, all 12 of them pulled out their cell phones and tried to use them. They passed the cell phones around and though the 'fasten seat belt' sign was on, took off their seat belts.

At this point, the air marshalls intervened.

Yeah! The ACLU Libs keep saying PROFILING
is unconstitutional! In retrospect, it's
pretty easy to spot some of the earliest
signs of the inroads Islam was making in
our country. It became fashionable for
people like Cassius Clay, Malcolm Little,
and Louis E. Walcott to join the NOI and
adopt Muslim names as part of their initiation.

I taught high school here in the midwest from
the early '60's, and gradually began seeing
some of my students of the previous year returning
after summer break with new names! I asked and
was told, "Like the kids making Confirmation, I
was told to select a new name." Some kids used
the new name all the time, others only used it
on certain occasions. By the time I retired in
'92, I noticed I had a few White kids with Muslim
names! That was a real eye-opener, especially to
a Christian teacher who took religious education
for his own kids as a serious parental obligation.
I found most of the kids had never attended
Sunday School or Mass, and had no religious
training at all. Of course, others joined the
new trend for the usual reason: peer pressure.

If we're truly going to confront this ideology,
we need to at least make the effort to understand
it, realizing there are quite a few different
factions within the groups. For those who would
