I guess I am on the wrong forum if wanting to control the size of government is wrong.

Wow! You really reached with that one!

My point was that you took this revisionist history thread that inaccurately portrays Bill Clinton as doing more than he actually did regarding welfare reform, to bash President Bush and compare him negatively with the most vile, disingenuous man to ever occupy the Oval Office.

It amazes me that anyone would ever do that.........that's all. Why not comment on the article? Isn't that what this forum is supposed to be about?

Or is it, in your view, a chance to bash President Bush (on a subject we probably all agree on, btw) on threads where it doesn't apply at all?

What I meant was that(obviously)his chief political-strategist(Morris),and his chief pollster(Greenberg)finally persuaded him to sign the measure because it was political suicide not to!Yes,I agree with you when you give credit to Mr.Newt, and "The Freshmen Class of 1994"!!

Don't know if his Chutzpah is an admirable thing.

Good to see you again!

Cheers~

"crazies"

Clinton knew that virtually all liberal policies from the sixties were huge flops and that the average American despised them. That's why he was so good at triangulation. He would champion some conservative ideals but had to be forced into implementing them. All the time expressing his deep "concern" for the people affected. At heart he was and still is a big lib. But not as crazy as the libs now dominating the party. I'll bet Slick Willie just shakes his head when he hears Dean, Gore, and the rest of the Dem nutcases rave.
