Unfortunately, there is doubt. Israel does not border Iran, operates no bombers, only fighters with bombing capability. Israel has only 3 small D/E subs, and only 3 corvettes and 11 missile boats. Iran has a larger and better armed navy, although their equipment is inferior in quality. The important thing is Israel lacks the hard hitting capability needed. They can do nothing more than harass Iran, not significantly damage Iran with out using nukes. The just do not have the weapons or ability, excepting their nuked IRBMs. Israel is a tiny country, and Iran a rather large one. This is a fight we need to fight. We can bring massive salvos of cruise missiles, far more fighters, more advanced and powerful equipment, such as stealth and unparalleled EW and ECM, our dreaded Supercarriers, as well as heavy bombers. Our navy operates small task forces with more power than the entire Israeli fleet. Israel is the size of New Jersey, and its population significantly smaller. Israel is a small state of 6 million people, Iran a large nation of almost 70 million, and the USA a sprawling empire of nearly 300 million. Comparable GDPs, Israel 155 billion, Iran 562 billion, the US over 12 trillion. It is not fair to set Israeli against the much larger and richer Iran. We can crush Iran, and should do so in a swift and brutal matter. Wipe out their government and military. Show the world not to mess with us.
Amen.
I wonder if that argument is being made in any quarter in Washington D.C.
Somewhere along the line we forgot how to win wars though. Back in the day, the current governments of Iran and Syria would already be a memory, and as a result, Iraq would be peaceful.
We can destroy armies with great efficiency, but to actually finish the job you have to destroy the will of the people to continue the fight.
excellent analysis.
