Democrat Congressional Nominee Expresses Support for Iraqi "Insurgency"
Daily Kos ^ | Wednesday, August 23, 2006 | Kristinn

Posted on 08/23/2006 7:41:55 PM PDT by kristinn

Jeeni Criscenzo, Democratic Party nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives 49th California District seat currently held by Republican nominee Darrell Issa, wrote in a blog entry earlier this month from Amman, Jordan of her support for the so-called insurgency in Iraq.

Criscenzo went to Amman with leaders of the anti-American group Code Pink and Sixties activist Tom Hayden to conspire with a group of anti-American Iraqi parliamentarians.

On August 6, writing in her campaign Web site blog which is linked on the Daily Kos blog, Criscenzo said, "It is important to distinguish between the militia, or death squads and the resistance, particularly when considering the amnesty aspects of the Reconciliation Plan crafted in Cairo last month. Over 95% of the Iraqi people oppose the presence of the U.S. troops in their country and consider the people the U.S. call "insurgents" to be patriotic freedom fighters -- no different that (sic) how we look at the people who fought in our Revolutionary War. Heroic titles go to the victors and if justice is to ever come to the people of Iraq, the people we call insurgents will have to be recognized as the ones who are actually defending their homeland."

Criscenzo brought a film crew with her to Jordan to film campaign ads on the trip.

A tangential thought -

Based on my theory of watching for the news that is NOT printed, I am not seeing articles about how well all the post-military service candidates are doing in their primary races for Congress. Last spring there was a lot of media noise about the large number of such candidates recruited by the Dems.

Conclusion: they must have done poorly.

I call BS! I want to see her source. Sounds like the "100,000 killed", or the 2.5 million homeless, or all the other Liberal mythology out there that stands unquestioned.

Only now it's our own Freedom that's at stake right here at home in a new time of war that they helped bring on.

Well if they only attacked the coalition soliders I guess someone could try to make that case. But most of the deaths are their fellow citizens of Iraq.

That's the part that makes her sentiment - which is widespread on the left - so stupid it's almost funny.

As far as I can tell the ground rules in a lefty's mind go like this: As long as you kill at least some Americans, you can do whatever else you want - and kill 100x as many of your countrymen - and you'll still be a "freedom fighter" for those countrymen. Basically: as long as you're killing or trying to kill at least some Americans, you must be right.

And what's the most condescending/insulting part is that the left truly cannot conceive of the possibility that some foreign people may actually dislike being intimidated, brutalized, attacked, and killed by those so-called "freedom fighters" more than they dislike having a U.S. military presence in their country. The left is perfectly happy to see foreign people killed by other foreign people in the service of supposedly "resisting the occupation" and so they assume all those foreign people must be ok with it as well.

I had to laugh when I read her old blog entry about the PWs countering her "vigil" in San Diego, because I'd read the FR after-action reports of same.

Her description of the "vigil" and the counter demonstrators reads almost like Comrade Bruce's reports of the CP "vigils" at WRAMC. Same leftist drivel, same leftist keywords, same twisted Moonbat logic...

I checked her campaign $$ on OpenSecrets.org after Kristinn posted this thread, and I saw how little she has raised, so I kind of knew by that info that she was a long longshot. But that shouldn't stop us from using her words (and she is a prolific writer) when we talk to other 'Rat politicians.

We can ask them, "Do you agree with your fellow 'Rat candidate in California that the insurgents in Iraq are freedom fighters and justified in killing American and Coalition soldiers, and Iraqi women and children in IED and suicide attacks?" or "Your fellow 'Rat congressional candidate, Jeeni Criscenzo of California believes that Halliburton is trying to take over our country, with the help of Dick Cheney. Do you share that opinion?"

The Lunatic Fringe of the 'Rat party are their own enemies. How many middle-America voters do you think will have a positive opinion of the political party that endorses such Moonbattery? They'll probably be repulsed by it.

The 'Rats are their own worst enemies, and they just can't shut up.

:-)

Medea Benjamin...we should start addressing her as Susan, or Suzy-Q or something. That she wants to be addressed as Medea is all the more reason to address her by her CHRISTIAN name of Susan.

Just a thought.

Suzy-Medea Benjamin.
