Precisely. The law was written to stop teachers from hoisting the Mexican Flag to the position of honor in classrooms during the recent illegal immigration protests.

So now the school administrators will decide that they need a test case - and here it is! After it is all said and done, we'll see the law rescinded, and liberals preaching about how "conservatives" tried to shut down teachers...

Lawmakers need to specify that the American flag must be displayed prominently in the position of honor - and that foreign flags may be displayed in school rooms when they are part of the lesson.

Yes, I think we probably need to know more about this. Having foreign flags is no problem - when I grew up in NYC, we often had flags of the countries the kids had come from hung around the walls - but it depends on the situation. In New York, it was simply to identify the many places the students had come from (such as Hungary, various Latin American countries, and French and British colonies in this hemisphere).

This "teacher" is an ACLU set up. He's probably a communist, Bush hater and is pushing the amnesty thing as well. These two flags have absolutely no business being displayed in a geography classroom this early in the year, even if the American flag was in a prominent position. There is no geographical connection between China and Mexico that would call for the display of their flags. This guy is on his own, and trying to make a point and get the law repealed.
