You cannot beat a black skin for political job security. Adam Clayton Powell, predecessor to Charlie Rangel as congressman from Harlem, New York are the only two members of congress I can recall and I'm 69 years old. Powell spent much of the time while congress was in session in Bimini, Bahamas drinking, partying and fishing. His constituents loved him because he thumbed his nose at "whitey."
