AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Dutch police arrested 12 passengers on a U.S. Northwest Airlines plane bound for India which was forced to turn back to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport on Wednesday, news agency ANP reported.
ANP quoted a police spokesman as saying 12 were arrested, but declined to give further details due to the ongoing investigation.
Police officials were not immediately available to comment.
The Dutch Defense Ministry said earlier the pilot decided to turn back after the crew said several of the 149 passengers on flight 42 to Mumbai were behaving suspiciously.
Security has been increased at airports worldwide in the last two weeks after British police said they had foiled a plot by British Muslims to blow up planes in the mid-Atlantic using liquid explosives disguised as drinks.
Hiya neighbor.
Interesting and merits your music selection.
Howdy, onyx. It is quite a concidence, but according to article, Nelson travels extensively. Both links are to same article. I expect anyone traveling to or from the US has their radar on full scan for anything out of the ordinary.
Chill.

Or Baptists.
I read the article you linked. He was in business class and noted the gathering of air marshals. Yes, his occupation requires him to travel extensively, but still... twilight zone music.
I could singlehandedly stop any number of Calvinists -- because I am predestined to do so, whether I believe I can do it or not.
From Guardian a little more detail:
A US government official said crew and air marshals had observed some passengers trying to use mobile phones and passing them around while the plane was taking off. "It was behaviour that average passengers wouldn't do," the official said.

A passenger said she saw about a dozen people taken off the plane in handcuffs and they appeared to be of South Asian origin.
A US government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said crew members and air marshals observed the passengers attempting to use cell phones and passing them among themselves while the airliner was taking off.
The Defence Ministry said the Northwest Airlines Flight NW0042 was bound for Mumbai but returned to Schiphol Airport.
In the meantime, CAIR is at it again

No surprise, there, really. Most women I have known who have their stuff together are naturals at prioritizing and multitasking. (Dinner on the stove, kids asking homework questions, one skinned knee, dog whining to get out, phone ringing, etc., etc., etc.--all simultaneously handled, in order of criticality.)
Stay clam.
Holy cow!
My money's on "playing the crew."
RE:Flight 327.I read about the incident. The men were up to something.Scarry.
They may well have done it for kicks, but they better get stuck with the bill for the inconvenience. I wouldn't put it past them to do something like this to create a panic.
Glad to know that I am not the only one!
You will not hear me complain about wisecracks on a political thread at all. I think something that is important enough to be in Breaking News doesn't deserve wisecracks unless it has to do with the Clintons then all bets are off.
Thought you would like to see Breaking News that you have a hard time finding the facts! :)
