Donation will allow Minutemen to erect high-tech border fence

TUCSON, Ariz. A Washington-based company is donating up to seven (m) million dollars worth of fiber-optic security fencing material for the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps for new barriers near the border.

The mesh has embedded sensors that can differentiate between human and animal contact and conditions such as high winds or heavy rain. Tied into cameras and alarms, the system can alert monitors to the precise location of any intrusion.

A spokeswoman for the Minuteman corps says the material could be used on range fencing similar to what the group put up earlier this year on a southern Arizona ranch.

Arizona's 377-mile border has been the focal point for smugglers bringing illegal immigrants into this country for years.

You dont have facts, because you dont want the facts. You want a convenient enemy.

Bingo. I guarantee you that come November when everything turns out to be on the up and up for Simcox, these jokers will continue to spin tin-foil conspiracies.

Come to think of it it's the same bunch who told us that Harriet Meiers was a wonderful pick for SCOTUS.

I'm glad you're not the only one to notice this. These folks suffer from cognitive dissonance when it comes to President Bush. The Minutemen have succeeded in making Bush look like an ass when it comes to the border, so in their minds, the Minutemen and their leadership are evil and immoral. Therefore, it is moral to try and bring down this organization by any means possible, even if it means lying and spinning kooky conspiracy theories. It's pretty sad.

I think it will be a tough year for Titans fans. We can console ourselves with a very high draft pick next season (that Bud Adams will not want to pay for) so all is not lost.

jmc - this place is not bad and if that is the worst I get I will be rather disappointed. :)

From everything I know about McVeigh, he had nothing to do with Islamofacism.

Welcome aboard FR. You might be surprised to find out theat there is a good case to be made that McVey and Nichols had assistance from Islamists. Google up "Jayna Davis" for more info.

I think it will be a tough year for Titans fans.

It could be worse. I'm a long suffering Jets fan and my favorite football player of all-tim, Curtis Martin is all but done.

Thanks to all who posted to this thread.

From the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps SOP:
#7,

"Minutemen understand that, while our actions cannot stop illegal activities along the boarder,we can change world perception and national thought concerning Homeland and Border Security"
