Only one commercial can top the sheer hatred our readers have for the winner of this year's worst-commercial contest. Yes, only creepy, toenail-snapping Digger the Dermatophyte is more hated than the horrendous repetition that is this year's winning loser, the HeadOn headache remedy commercial.
In case you haven't seen it (you can find it on YouTube, but really, why would you want to?), the commercial is as insanely simple as it is annoying. A female voice repeats "HeadOn: Apply directly to the forehead!" three times as a blissed-out smug woman rolls what appears to be a Bonne Bell LipSmacker on her head.
What in the name of a glue stick in disguise is going on there? First off, does anyone believe that this works any better than, say, rubbing your head with your hand? Who decided that a commercial where only the product name and tagline are repeated over and over was good advertising? What kind of drugs is the model in the ad actually on? And does anyone know anyone who has ever, ever used this product, or seen it for sale anywhere outside these ads?

The Computer Professor... I want to reach out and slap him so much.
It was maybe a little funny the first 50 times I saw it but now after 500 times I want to scream every time I see it.
Also the Roast Duck with the Mango Salsa has been done to death.
Who's messin' with my dots?
You messin' with my dots?
There's this Ionic Breeze commercial that has this guy talking about the virtues of product all the while trying to hold up this toddler. This goes on for weeks. Then the other day I see this guy again, only now he's hold a cat.
make that holding
How could I forget that one? UGH! I cringe with embarrassment everytime I see it! Seriously, what is Geico thinking? Those three (Bacharach, Little Richard & Charro) are the most pathetic commercials ever!
Huh? Are you series? It's a commercial for a movie channel based on a scene from a movie: From one of the Austin Powers movies. It's where "Fat Ba$tard" wants to eat "Mini-Me," who's played by Vern Troyer, the spokesperson in the commercial.

They are both commercials for Staples. The best two commercials I've ever seen IMHO...Love 'em both, make me chuckle, I also look forward to them every year...
Oh, those were SO creepy! There was one where the guy wakes up and the plastic head Burger King was in bed with him? Yikes! Or the one where he's looking into the bedroom window?

I have to agree with the "Head-on" commercial being the worst.
Second to that one is the one with the couple who own a boutique and a customer comes in to browse with her kid in tow. The kid keeps stepping on the rug to ring the entry bell that sounds when a customer enters. Then the couple go on vacation. Several things about this ad just don't "ring" true and I find it to be racist with blacks as the target audience.
Hardees had some of the best commercials around. Of course there was the Western Bacon Cheeseburger, where we listen to Foghat while a really, REALLY hot babe slowly rides a mechanical bull, but that's not really the commercial I'm talking about... Or the one for the Monster Burgers, where the girl sticks her fist in her mouth: I'm not really talking about that one either.
No, the funniest commercial I saw for Hardees was when they had their "Burgers for Grownups" ad campaign, and you see this pregnant woman walking into a Dr office waiting room, carrying a Hardees bag, and there are a bunch of harried looking mothers dealing with children who look longingly at the burger she begins to eat. The voice-over says something along the lines of, "you'll be eating at McDonalds for the next 16 years, so enjoy it while you can!" LOL!

I guess I'm the only person who actually kinda likes the Digger-the-dermatophyte commercial. Yeah, it's gross, but it's mildly amusing.....to me.
Oh, yeah! Those "mutant gerbils," or whatever the hell they were? The singing ones? I found them to be quite disturbing, and never did go to Quiznos because of them!

Did you ever notice the advertisement for that sleeping aid drug (Lucerna or something like that) includes "drowsiness" as one of the side effects in the disclaimer?
My fave is the Gerber Baby Grow-Up Plan commercial. That child is astonishingly beautiful! We even DVR it and stop-motion on all the child's face shots as she moves and smiles. I just want to reach into the tv and grab her and cuddle her. I want that child!
Same with us.
Also excellent - when those come on I always pay attention - and I don't even drink - anymore...:o(
And many on FR (get in line! I'm first!) would love to share that vision as well! ;-)
