They usually tighten as the elections draw nearer.
As always, turn out is the key.
What is the accuracy of these generic polls in elections past, as opposed to individual state polls?
Rush had some kind of a poll...I forget the details, but basically the poll showed that people are not paying attention to politics right now. Rush said he thinks polls this early are worthless. Remember the 'Republicans have peaked polls of 1994?
Rush stated today 68% of the people polled have paid "little or NO attention to the election or any candidate.". This ,even this good news at this point, is all GARBAGE!
is turning in to this:
ROFLOL!
Iraq was only a "mistake" because gas prices went up (How Joe voter REALLY thinks)
Who cares who wins? We would be better off (as conservatives) if the Dims won the house or the senate. Maybe that way, we would have gridlock, and a LOT less money would be spent on so much BS thanks to the rubber-stamp spending going on with all these so-called conservatives in charge. I was thinking about voting Dim this time just for that reason. Gridlock is GOOD! When the government can't get anything done, it is good for the people. Anyway, as to the "Who cares who wins?" thing, I honestly don't think there is any such thing as a truly conservative career politician. They are all libs. They all need more money, more programs, bigger bureaucracy, more power, etc... Oh, and none of the Republicans seem to care what we (their base) want or need. The border, less spending, smaller government, all just unimportant stuff that they will only acknowledge when the polls are getting ready to open, if at all.

Iowa Electronic Markets show the bounce - and they are unemotional -- a money driven indicator.
Fall in gas prices and Bush's approval ratings are back over 40%.
Love the Dems. They cold-call people. On land lines. At home. In the evenings. On the weekends.
Who do you think answers? That's right - retirees, persons receiving government asssistance, etc. along with people too DUMB to avoid answering the phone between 6-9 PM at night (also known as Telemarketing Hell) or too DUMB to register with the Do-Not-Call list.
So....a Dem pollster push-polls a likely Dem voter with questions like "How soon should we exit Iraq?" or this stupid oversimplistic right track-wrong track question and they get a bunch of fools spouting cliches straight from Bob Schieffer's evening newscast. Some of them probably think FDR will be on the ballot this fall.
Dem polls are about as useful as horoscopes.
