Does anyone here know if their concert is actually any good? Does Natalie rant during the show (like John Cougar Mellencamp) or do they just perform their songs? A crappy show could be as damaging as insulting their fans.

Here's a billboard I see in the near future at a run-down beach near you...

TONIGHT'S SHOW: 1970s pop sensation POCO, 1980s hearthrob Donnie Wahlberg and TIME PERMITTING, the Dixie Chicks.

The article mentions Natalie took another lame swing at Bush.

Maybe some day these low life's will learn not to bash our President..To me which that it meant they were bashing our troops..And when some little commie group thinks they are better than anyone in this country it was time to take them down..I hope they never fill a room again and hope they have to learn where their next meal is coming from..

Two years from now they'll be on the cover of Weekly World News:

Dixie Chicks Give Birth to Alien Chicken Boy. Batboy Denys Paternity.

Yes, the concert was good. Nat made no political comments (not even about Bush), but did make a few comments about kids. This was at the Detroit show, the first concert.

History and geography lesson: Check your map of the U.S....

Texas is in the South on my map.

Check your history of the Confederacy and the list of Confederate States of America. Texas fought long, hard and proud for the Confederacy.

The first time I caught their act was at a glorified beer tent at the Iowa State Fair. We were at the fair this weekend. Some of the beer tents were PACKED! I'll bet ya they wouldn't have minded a crowd that big! If they had any sense they would lose the sow and go back out on the beer tent tour and suck up and try to get their base back.

what Maines lacks as a comedian, she more than makes up for as the frontwoman of a group that's just getting started in exploring some fascinating, exciting new territory.

Unemployment??

They can bash Bush all they want. What gripes me is when they start crying like babies when they lose half their audience. They don't seem to understand that they alienate half of America when they dis the president. That's just plain stoooooopid!

For the life of me I cannot understand why, when people exercise their constitutional right to free speech, they're dragged through hell and back as a consequence. If there are consequences to exercising any of our rights as citizens, then we have not rights at all."

Clearly the product of a public school education.

"Does anyone here know if their concert is actually any good? "

- The same thought occurred to me after reading the review. Aside from a remark that the crowd sang along to the chorus of a song, I got no feel as to whether the crowd was wildly enthusiastic or merely tepid in their reaction to the group. If most of the songs were from the groups "new" approach, which is to de-emphasize the country in their music and go to more of a contemporary or pop sound, it's likely the diehard country fans who showed up weren't enthused with the change.
However, it's clear from the tone of the review that the writer, like much of the MSM, loves their politics as much as their music.

A monster locomotive of a career swallowed up by Natalie Maine's own cavernous mouth.

Texas is in the South on my map.

Actually, Texas is in the southwest and had spotty representation in the Civil War. The south and deep south are considered to be be from Virginia south to Florida and west to about Lousiana.

Well the democrats think they can get away with anything and we conservatives will do nothing about it.. I hope these girls will learn a lesson when they have to go out and get a job at a fast food place to make a living..

I want to tell you a little story here..About a week ago my granddaughter bought a CD of the Dixie Chicks at Wal-Mart..When she brought it home I said why did you buy that..didn't you know these girls hate our country and talks bad about our president..Well her mom took her back to Wal-Mart and she wanted her money back..she told the woman that she will not buy anything that a commie group puts on a CD..I did teach her well..LOL!She loves this country and our President..A very smart ten year old..

Exactly,

The chicks aren't being clobbered because of some stupid idiotic comment made about the President.. though that might have cost them some fans.... they are being clobbered because after that they attacked their own fan base calling them names and saying they didn't need em..... That's what cost em.

I am so sick of idiotic entertainers who don't understand "YOU STEP AND FETCH FOR MONEY!" That's it.. that's your job. Your job is to entertain people in exchange for $$. So, "Know your role and shut your mouth!"

I noticed the light board on the Tacoma Dome (Tacoma WA) still is announcing their concert. Take away a few very heavy leftist concentrations like Seattle and Olympia, and the blue-collar Dems from Tacoma, then Washington is a very red state. I can't see the Seattle and Olympia anti-war crowds being Chicks fans regardless of the Chicks hatred for Bush - Banjos don't mix well with the Grunge kids, the artsy New Bohemians who spend most of their day in coffee shops, and the Goth kids. I would say if they sale tickets it would be to just to the people from the Tacoma area, and I don't know if they can fill the stadium like they did with their Fly tour which happened before they come out as anti-war/anti country

Preview of the coming elections -- 'We're great, we're going to sweep the conservatives out of office, Bush lied, Cindy cried' -- but the stadium is empty.
