Apocalypse when?
The Washington Times ^ | August 21, 2006 | John R. Thomson

Posted on 08/21/2006 1:22:07 AM PDT by John Carey

With the full backing of Iran and Syria, the murderous Shi'ite bigots are well-positioned for taking full control of Lebanon, for rearming and rebuilding to attack Israel another day and for preparing its fanatical cadres to envelop the Middle East and strike directly at the United States. The situation is so grave that it can accurately be said the latest U.N. resolution has opened the door to a new wave of autocratic terror throughout the Muslim world that makes previous regimes -- Saddam Hussein in Iraq, Hafez Assad in Syria, even the Taliban in Afghanistan -- pale in comparison.

Near the end, the author writes: "Washington's collaboration with France effectively abets these outrageous goals. Such a horrific diplomatic blunder is a travesty that can only be explained by the State Department and the National Security Council relying on thoroughly uninformed, tragically misguided "experts."

Probably sooner than we think. The question at this time becomes one of how we can best prepare to protect ourselves and our families.

More hysteria, chicken littlism and nonsense from the drama queen Know Nothings. Utter nonsense of an article from start to finish.

Make no mistake: Radical Shi'ite theology is a doomsday creed that will happily suffer and inflict on its enemies the most awful extremes, to fulfill its objective of Islam's 12th imam returning to save mankind.

This is the solemn belief of Hezbollah Lebanese head Sheik Nasrallah, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. For them, it is all very logical because the great imam will only return under apocalyptic conditions created by humanity. This is the awesome threat the rest of the world faces.

Didn't they get the memo... it's a war on Terrorism!
We wouldn't want to upset the Muslims by identifying Islam as the problem...

I did something I never thought I would do. I went out filled both gas tanks on a truck I use occassionally as a weekend yard-chore driver. I wanted 35 gallons on hand.

We have also been buying canned food anytime we see it on sale. Not alot at a time but over the past couple of years a few cans in the cart. I just stuff it down in the botton pantry but probably a better idea is to bury it in the yard.

And when NONE of the visions of the Apocalypse ranted about here happen, the Chicken Little Drive By Media will simply move on to the next topic and make the same hysteric end of the world pronouncements about that issue. HOW many times do we have to hear the same Doom and Gloomer end of the world rants from these people before Freepers stop taking them seriously. The world is evolutionary, not revolutionary and does not move in these sort of sweeping all or nothing drama queen style of the Hollyweird crowd.

Canned food and water are always a good idea.
I have a wait and see attitude. I think Iran wants to be attacked, but I am not sure they will attack anyone else.
At least not this week.

This guy is in need of meds and has had delusions of grandeur, and probably hallucinations. He is a fanatic zealot who thinks it is up to him to usher in his islamic second coming with an unprecedented toll of death and destruction.
If he really does have a nuke, we could be in for some seriously bad times.

Well, if it does happen, look on the bright side: There will be no I.R.S. in the post-Apocalypse.

Tips for survival in the Aftermath:

Learn how to drive and have a fast car and a smart dog on hand. You'll never know how many warlords you'll run into out in the wasteland.

It's better to shoot mutants first and ask questions later.

Telepathy may increase as a result of radiation. Be prepared! Your brain will have less security than Windows.

It will be considered rude to comment on somebody's baldness, extra eye, limb, or head. Politeness is something we will need to rebuild civilization.

Your bomb shelter can also double as a rental property when you come out.

Remember that today's local politician can become tomorrow's post-atomic despot. Bribe accordingly (with guns and ammo, canned food, or extra oil).

In lieu of T.V. or the Internet, gladiatorial combat will always draw a crowd. This can be a good home business opportunity.

If you want to carve out a little kingdom for yourself, remember who helped get you there. Don't forget to give your slaves extra rations.

Leftover relics from the past can become useful religious icons for your cult.

And finally, when in doubt, use mercenaries. Remember, in the post-atomic econmy, your needs are their job security.

I don't think it is Apocalyptic. However, I do think that a lot of people are deliberately ignoring the pure, clear facts of the threat we as Americans are under.

You know, and I know, and 99.9% of the posters here on Freep know that the terrorists are not going to flinch from genocide.

Yeah. Genocide. It's the most accurate word for their eventual plans. Genocide, then slavery.

I don't get why Europeans aren't clear on this - why democrats just don't understand this. Maybe it is because I was raised more traditionally. I was taught to listen to someone's words and watch their actions. And these terrorists - in their own words - have been very, very clear. They intend to murder us in the millions and enslave the rest. Period.

And they can. I mean, it is not impossible for them to slaughter us by the hundreds of thousands at a time.

I think the Euros and democrats are a bit too "nuanced" to believe the utterly clear and horrible truths that the murdering animals have said time and again - that they intend to kill us and enslave the rest. I guess the leftists and "elites" think it is all rhetoric and puffery.

I don't.

Apocalyptic? No. But I believe there will be a blood price to bear soon. It will be awful. It will be sudden. And it will either break the left on a rock of woe, or make them come to their senses.

See, I don't discount the Enemy. I don't think they are ineffectual, nor that they will never truly harm us in a horrific manner. I know they CAN do it. I know they WILL do it as soon as they are able, because they slaver and dream of it. Death of Americans in the millions makes them hot and excited. The murder of millions is worth anything to them. They are monsters and we can never reach an accord with them.

They will kill until they are unable to do so. They are not able to be talked to, or negotiated with. Their demands require enslavement or - death and enslavement. Neither can be contenanced.

They are not even like the Imperial Japanese. At least we were able to convince Hirohito to renounce his claim to Godhood. Mohammed is dead and roasting in hell - can't really prop him up to say "Sorry guys, I was misquoted."

So - while it isn't likely to have a single Apocalyptic event - we really are living in a very disturbing time. We have an enemy which we must simply erase from existence. We cannot live on the same planet as these rabid barbarians. We cannot negotiate, cannot trust, and cannot appease them.

Eventually, we will as a civilization have to examine genocide and what we may be forced to do. We did examine it in WWII against the Japanese. We fully expected to end up wiping out the entire nation of Japan. Luckily, we managed to avoid that horrible fate. We had chosen to invade the Japanese islands - fully aware that we may have ended with the extinction of a culture.

Hard choices. Hard decisions. In the end, we sighed, shrugged, and built the landing craft for Operation Downfall.

See, I don't think the terrorists get it. They have started to commit and will continue to try to commit genocide on the US and Israel.

They don't realize that recently, we, who shudder at the thought of genocide, had decided to execute an entire culture. They think they're facing a weak enemy. We were at a point, not long ago, where nuking a country was more merciful than our initial battleplans. So we did it. We may have to do it again.

Well put. We did examine it in WWII against the Japanese. We fully expected to end up wiping out the entire nation of Japan.

Someone else wrote that Japan had said they'd fight to the last man, woman, and child and that we only won when we demonstrated that we were willing to take that last man, woman, and child. In the end, fewer lives were lost because of it.

Curious how we keep taking seriously all the Chicken Littles time after time after time making these predictions of disaster right around the corner that NEVER happen.

I guess some people simply have to have this manufactured angst and hysteria to give their boring lives meaning.

I tend to doubt the 22nd will be a day of drama- but I tell you what- if Iran gets nukes the landscape of the world will change dramatically- not overnight but in ways we can't imagine today. The great question in my mind is does the West have the WILL to stop them? The only way to accomplish that now- short of all out war- seems by real and serious sanctions that our European "friends" are unlikely to agree to.

What outcome do you see with Iran and nukes?
