Maybe West needs its own Hezbollah
Philadelphia Inquirer ^ | 8/20/2006 | Kevin Ferris

With United Nations signaling that nationhood is passé, other countries will need proxy militias.

-- snip --

There are good reasons for a cease-fire: the innocent lives lost, the destruction of towns and infrastructure, the fragility of the democratic experiment in Lebanon. And there's a slight - believe it when you see it - possibility of a disarmed Hezbollah if the beefed-up U.N. presence in southern Lebanon materializes.

But here are the main messages to Israel from 1701:

Defend yourself against the terrorists of Hezbollah and the world will blame you for the violence.

Strike too hard - disproportionately - and the world will urge a cease-fire, expecting you to honor it although your enemy pledged in the 1980s, "Our struggle will end only when [Israel] is obliterated. We recognize no treaty with it, no cease-fire, and no peace agreements, whether separate or consolidated."

Expect to be condemned if you threaten Hezbollah's sponsors, Syria and Iran - that would be widening the war, after all - but don't expect the world to rebuke them for arming and financing the militia-for-hire they use against the "Benefit, Honour and Advantage" of another nation-state. Neither nation is even mentioned in 1701.

-- snip --

These Western militias would have rules, of course. The U.N. may wink and nod at the slaughter of civilians and rhetoric of genocide, but that doesn't mean others can stomach it. For example, maybe these Western militias would only target the leaders and financiers of international terror. Michael Rubin of the American Enterprise Institute says as much in a recent piece arguing that the U.S. government should lift its ban on assassinations: "Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei and Syrian president Bashar al-Assad might be far less willing to facilitate the supply of Hezbollah and other terrorist proxies if they knew that the cost of their actions might be their own lives."

If a militia mission goes awry, the West can simply mouth pieties about "freedom fighters" and the "legitimate aspirations of a people." If, however, a terrorist leader is actually killed, the West can tsk-tsk along with the rest of the world. But only briefly. For after the mourning period, expect swift U.N. action against Western non-state actors who are not "entertaining a good and faithful Neighborhood."

My mistake, I should have written: "...the FBI/ATF would waste more time and resources pursuing them than the Islamo-facists."

p.s. The word "bimbo" (pronounced beembo) in Japanese means poor, as in no money.

remember Clinton's pursuit of the dreaded Michigan Militia while the Muslims were bombing the WTC, the Embassies in Africa, the USS Cole, etc?

Don't get me wrong, but I suspect the white-power militias had ties to the islamofascists. I think the Clinton administration did all it could to suppress information about islamofascist involvement in the Oklahoma attack. The fact that white-power fascists did the grunt work was convenient for both Clinton and the 'slammies.

It's interesting that the bomber,Tim McVey, a dissaffected Desert Storm Vet, as the media potrayed him, went to his death without uttering a word. If he was dissaffected before bombing the Federal Building, why did he remain loyal to the new employers, the one's who set him up for the fall? In other words, who was it that pressured him into silence, and what did they have on him? This has always bothered me, most people would open their mouths to save their own skins. Or maybe he did; this is all speculation.

But Nazis like fascists and muslims and vise versa. Maybe fascism is just a western variant of islam.

Affluent Westerners will always have a double standard against themselves and others like them - non-western countries or groups can do no wrong (they are struggling underdogs, justified in anything they do) and our side can do no right (we are bullies who have no right to be so powerful, and are not even allowed to defend ourselves). It's a societal form of a personality disorder.

We wouldn't want to be accused of torture now.

Someday, that day hopefully never needs to come, I will be migrating south if that is indeed where the 2nd American Revolution takes root.

I will be armed with merely a shotgun and a moral sense of right and wrong. I will be doing what I can to ensure that my children and grandchildren can live without an oppressive government, press and educational system. I will ensure that this country is not beholden to foreign organizations made up of tyrants, dictators and military juantas.

I may be old, fat and grey when that day comes but a lifetime of experience, my arms and my intellect will be there for the cause. I will not see armed revolution against the PC thugs and liberal/progressive Stormtroopers from the sidelines. Regardless of my strength and abilities I will fight as I am able and die fighting them if that is God's will.

Better idea which would work with Illegal Aliens.
Don't do business with them. If you see one on a plane, disembark. If you see one working behind the counter of a store. Walk out without spending a dime and let the management know why.
It's simple and legal without violence or mayhem.

"arguing that the U.S. government should lift its ban on assassinations"

No chance this will ever happen. Why?

One word - Kennedy....

Nobody wants to be next. It would end the 2nd here at home and forget civil liberties.

The US is done with proxy wars. Americans are not cowards like Syria and Iran.

This is exactly as I've been thinking. Fight fire with fire, western militias is a great idea.

FreedomForce might be a good name.

Start one before Aug 22.

We don't need assassins or militias or anything else like that. What we need is will, commitment, and resolution. We got enough weapons after that.

Agreed 100%. I think it will come to fruition some day if the West continues to be attacked and have its hands tied.

The God-fearing, Bible-believing men of the South and Southwest would make a great Christian Army. Don't laugh...when our survival depends on it, it will happen.

Yes it will.
