Although Bayh is intellectually a lightweight, he is a formidable candidate. He was twice elected governor of Indiana (a Bush state) and has ties to Teddy Kennedy. Dismissing him is simply foolish.
Understood, great question?
What I am hoping for is that any voter with any intelligence at all will step up to the plate for our side. Demrat after dem rat consistently comes to the plate with nothing. Nothing at all.
The rat party remains a party without a platform, without any new ideas and without a plan for the future. Who in the hell will vote for a desperate gang like that?
The dems constantly complain about GW and how much they hate him and anything he does. But tell me when do they come up with a plan other than cut and run or more federal control or more welfare. They are a party without any substance and a well educated seventh grader should be able to see that.
That's why I continue to have hope for the future. We basically run again a party with no position on anything except opposite our leaders. That seldom works.
They need to show up with a plan someday and I don't think it will happen they are composed of too many splinter groups that really don't get along with one another to have a coordinated plan for the future.
No plan, no vote,we win.
Now to get the word out.
Yes, it would be a dem win. BUT it would be a pro-war win as well. A Lamont win would be a dem win with an anti-war position. I prefer the former.
I agree again but I fear that some people (not you) are being blinded by his support of the WOT and are forgetting on every other issue he nearly 100% votes with the Dems.
Thanks will do awards after tea(dinner) or tomorrow if do not get back to it.
Will do award after dinner (roast lamb, boiled new potatoes and green and runner beans). Followed by blackberry muffins (blackberries picked from the garden).
Thanks for the company and wondeful info/chat again - see you all next week if I do not catch you before.
Will post awards either later tonight or tomorrow.
All the best
Eleanor
What this translates to is that we should abandon Israel, give stuff to the terrorists(which is what they all are),and then we terrorists will be nice to you. This is the Bill Clinton way. The problem is that they will be "nice"until they have gathered enough strength to kill us.
Someday we may learn that people who have been hopelessly brainwashed from cradel to grave cannot be dealt with. They have to be destroyed.
#273, you have Nailed "snarlin Arlen" to a T,it is all about his monstrous ego,and the need for fulfillment. He will never have it,and he only has so much time to complete the task. He could fool us all,but I seriously doubt it. Freepers have this toad down to a science, and can predict his next move like predicting that the Sun will rise tomorrow morning.
Great posts there Phsstpok, lots of good stuff today.
Newt and McC vying for hilaryfavors........aaaaarrrgggggghhhhhhh do you think they stay downwind.
Where the morning talk shows avoided JonBenet..the afternoon Fox News has embraced it...GAG ME...
They keep showing LAX...because Lamont ---opps, Karr, is supposed to land there TONIGHT!!!
I missed Specter today on CNN,...did you see him?
Victoria Toensing is one of my faves. Even prefer her over her hubby.
#279 Mccain is not going to win the Primaries. He is a serious mental case, and only gets worse as his body, brain ages. The News Media can only prop him up to the Democrats and a few Independents, that will not get him out of the Quagmire his ruthless anger and attitude have created enough to win any of the primaries. Those that were for Mccain years ago know better now. He is a pathetic creature whose Media led anti GWB rhetoric enabled an Idiot like Hagel to be all over the media thinking he is a Star. They(Hagel &Mccain are delusional and I will support Rudy, but never Mccain. Mccain is so bi-polar he is all over the Map,and switches positions like I switch Television Channels. He needs to be an adult and come down to Earth, but it is too late.
We have won one tiny pr point.
Every Republican pol that I hear now, when discussing taxes, says "Americans keeping more of their money" instead of "government giving money back to [rich] Americans."
I was on a letter- writing and phone-calling campaign for that change in locution for a few years.
I am working on the health care is not health insurance statement now.
Just to stick in my two cents' worth on McCain:
He, like most of the bunch inside the Beltway, is still operating on the premise that the MSM is the REAL national constituancy; Trim your positions to gain the approval of the media, the voters will meekly rubberstamp whatever comes out of the NYT's font of wisdom and shazam, you're POTUS.
Doesn't seem as though any of those terribly clever people have even considered the gross declines in readership or credibility of the entire MSM over the last ten or fifteen years, or briefly wondered why lately the voters persist in standing "conventional wisdom" on its head so often.
IMHO, McCain is probably not going to be campaigning for President much past the Iowa primary, precisely because he and his staff have put so much into satisfying the MSM, they don't have a clue about what the average voter has as a concern.
Right now, my favorite candidate for POTUS is Condi Rice based mostly on gut instinct, plus the fact that she is the only one with the guts and good sense to say that she doesn't really want the da**ed job.
