Not meaning to be flippant about this, but what is the time element here. Teheran time? GMT or ZULU time? Washington Time? Tel Aviv Time?

I would guess since we're talking Islamic mysticism here that it will be before dusk Baghdad time, as Iraq is where Ali is buried. That's ZULU plus three hours. Say before 1600 ZULU or 1100 EDT. I think we'll know by then if anything is happening

Actually, since the Islamic calendar is lunar based, I think it is significant to consider this:

The Cresent moon wanes completely and the new moon begins at exactly 1:51:30 8/23/2006 US Eastern Daylight Savings Time. That is 8:51:30 8/23/2006 Jerusalem Time. That is 9:21:30 8/23/2006 Tehran Time (1427 Rajab 28). August 10th 2006 for Old Calendar (Julian) Orthodox.
