Egypt warns against any military strike on Iran

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak warned against any military strike on Iran in an interview published on Saturday.

The United Nations Security Council has demanded Iran suspend uranium enrichment by the end of the month after Tehran failed to persuade the international community its atomic scientists were working on power stations, not bombs.

Washington has declined to rule out military strikes as a solution to the nuclear dispute.

"The conflict between the United States and Iran must be resolved through diplomatic channels and direct dialogue, because any strike on Iran means the end of stability in the region and the world," Mubarak said in an interview published on Saturday in Egypt's Akhbar al-Youm newspaper.

One billion just so they won't invade Israel?

This is a continuing legacy of the Camp David accords, of which the Carterites are so proud. Carter agreed to pay off the Egyptians to the tune of a couple billion actually, each year, for agreeing to sign a peace treaty with Israel. We pay off Israel also, for the same treaty. Crass, and probably not necessary, as Israel and Egypt were within striking distance of an agreement before Camp David even happened.

I think it was just a late blooming of the "nonaligned" movement's rip-off mentality. And Jimmuh bit.

Change it to say, "it's not the heat, it's the stupidity" and you have just described the middle east.

That would make a GREAT tagline.

Dang, how I wish I was running the state department.

Word to the idiot Arab Islamic Terrorist supporters:

WE HAVE BEEN TRYING DIPLOMATIC options for YEARS and what has it gotten us???? MORE TERRORISM and a TERRORIST state on the verge of having NUCLEAR weapons. The time for diplomacy has long since passed (despite continued fruitless efforts).

I wonder if Americans realize that for more than twenty years we have been paying Egypt $2 billion a year to demilitarize the Sinai? I say to Hell with Egyt and a government that allows Hamas to use El Arish town as a base to rearm Gaza and denies its Coptic Christians basic human rights. The bastids don't deserve a penny from the American taxpayers. The Muslim Armageddon is fast approaching, and I say bring it on!

Works for me, although I really did want the job. ;0) I would just love to see their faces when the annual payoff came due and I would say, "No foreign aid for you."

Victims? I seem to recall from my history books that Egyptians victimized quite a few people in their heyday. Who do they give foreign aid to?

I have plans for the rest of the foreign aid we give away also. The handouts stop now! Complaints are filed in the circular bin next to may desk. :0)
