UPDATE:North Koreans are preparing for a possible undeground nuclear test, reportedly at P'yunggyeyok in the northeast of the country not very far from the missile launch facility of Taepodong 2 last month (and other launch complexs for nodong and scud missiles), Musudanri. This according to the daily Korean newspaper Joongang Ilbo, which Japanese TV NNN Network highlights in this brief report. You can see the brief streaming report, including a map showing the location of this suspected test in northeast North Korea, in the clip. It is 300K and viewable via Windows Media Player.

I'm not surprised. My only question is will it have sufficient containment?
To: AmericanInTokyo
I should add that the footage in this video is primarily of the nuclear facilities at Yongbyon, including removing fuel rods, filmed some time ago. Nevertheless the value of the video is the location noted on the DPRK map and the comments noting the suspected preparations for a nuke test at the P'yunggyeyok facility area as we speak (per Joongangilbo News, South Korea).

It might have its bright side. Like a festering boil that finally bursts through: the beginning of the end of this outlaw regime.

They could blast radiation all over the freaking place, yes.
They have already had horrible radiation deaths in the vicinity of the closed areas of Yangbyon and Kumchangri over the years. Little chernobyl's here and there, with tecnicians suffering horrible slow deaths because of their lack of standards nor international supervision by IAEA. (I'm just referring to the reprocessing here).

The Japanese reaction will be astonishing. The American reaction will be: Yankees are up 3 1/2 games!

So if NK does explode a nuke, how long before Iran says that they bought one from NK and they got it pointed at Israel/Baghdad and will set it off if we don't leave the region.

The reaction will be Nonstop JonBenet Ramsey 24/7. North Korea preparing to attack the United States or Japan with nuclear technology (or at least create nuclear blackmail which is the dimension we are moving into) shall not take priority over that, for sure.

Is there an approx time/date when this may happen? Within 14 days? 7? 5? Or are we back to "imminent"?

Bush was right when he declared Iraq, Iran and NK as the axis of evil. Something tells me we are gonna go from simmer to jiffy pop very soon.

I would suspect we have an approximate 30 day timeline. Some time within that time period is possible, yes. Nobody can guess the exact day. Kim Jong il could choose any day for various reasons. I have no evidence, I just think he would enjoy choosing September 11th fifth anniversary just to be (
sorry to borrow a lib word here) "mean spirited."
I only theorize that because the man is a very clever yet very crazy dangerous nutbag case.

The mass media particularly in the USA, by and large, are liberals who hate themselves and do not even value their own freedom and survival, and think everyone else out there is like them and wants to go out like sick, suicidal lemmings. Therefore, even in view of these great geopolitical threats, they will focus--yeah, obsess, on the unimportant. If dumbed down Joe Sixpack drinks it up, asks for more and does not demand higher levels of journalism, it will be a shame.
As for me, the death of a cutsie 6 year old little beauty queen girl in Colorado 10 years ago, as sad as that is, has absolutely NO BEARING ON MY LIFE--and millions of others, including you and yours--compared to a full scale nuclear war prompted by North Korean agression in Northeast Asia at this time.

Thanks- that seems reasonable..the 9/11 or 22 Aug dates - considering he did the first round on the 4th of July..
We have some serious psychos running things in Iran, N Korea, Venezuela and even Lebanon...
