The current issue of The Wilson Quarterly features an essay by Martin Walker, editor of United Press International, called "Europe's Mosque Hysteria." The basic message: "Don't worry, be happy."

Trying to compete with Reuters?

to say that something is not ineluctable is to say very little indeed. It is just a nice rhetorical curlicue, mollifying to the inattentive, perhaps.

Nice touch.

"The rich variety of Muslim immigration" in Britain which, he says, is not "monolithic" (i.e., bad) but rather a "potpourri"

In this potpourri of muslims, how many of them are sympathetic to Israel? How many of them would speak up to oppose the slaughter of Israeli jews? Any? Just wondering.

Yes, we have a great variety of muslims coming here. So many different types. Some kill infidels with knives, some kill infidels with bombs, some use swords, some use guns, some just like to strangle infidels, the list goes on!

Yes, a very diverse group!

Variety, that's the ticket.

Ya got your "man-pack" suicide bombers, your train bombers, your "Son of Satan" freelancers. Your mall snipers, your refinery bombers, your power plant bombers, your plane hijackers and your truck bombers, among others.

Mr. Walker's talk of "Europe's Mosque Hysteria" is on a par with the criticism of "Islamophobia." A phobia is an irrational fear or dread. But dreading the effects of the incursion of radical Islam into Western society is eminently rational, as the events of 9/11, 7/7, the Madrid train bombing, the Bali nightclub bombing, the murder of Theo van Gogh and Pym Fortuyn [a reader reminds me that Fortuyn was not murdered by radical Islamists but a crazed "animal rights" activist], the wave of embassy burnings in the wake of those Danish cartoons of Moahmmed, and a hundred other incidents show. Like Rodney King, Mr. Walker wonders we can't all get along. Neville Chamberlain tried the same wheeze. Adolf was only too happy to play along. Until, that is, he thought the time to play was over.
It is only a matter of time before an Israeli, European or American city gets nuked.

When it happens in America, it will be time for backlash to begin. Against the leftist press and the leftist politicos that enabled the event.

Too bad the backlash can't happen in advance.

Islam is the cancer. Leftism is the suppressed-immune-system disorder that allows the cancer to spread.
