Prison guards searched the death row cell of Polly Klaas' killer after learning he may have corresponded with the suspect in the decade-old slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, authorities said Friday.
Guards at San Quentin State Prison searched Richard Allen Davis' cell Thursday, but not would immediately disclose what they found. A news conference was planned later Friday.
Davis, 52, was sentenced to death for the 1993 kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas. The girl was from Petaluma, where suspect John Mark Karr lived from 2000 to 2001, when Karr was charged with child pornography.
Lt. Eric Messick said officials decided to search Davis' cell after learning that Karr had told detectives in 2001 that he had a letter from Davis and was researching a book on him.
"Our reasoning was that if there was evidence of them having this relationship, then it might shed some light on things - it wasn't a far reach," he said. "But I don't think we've found anything so far suggesting there was a nexus between Davis, Karr and JonBenet Ramsey. Obviously Richard Allen Davis was in prison at that time."
Calls to Davis' lawyers Friday were not immediately returned.
Karr, 41, told authorities he drugged and sexually assaulted JonBenet, the child beauty queen who was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her family's Colorado home on Dec. 26, 1996. Karr said he killed the 6-year-old girl accidentally.
The guy on Coast-to-Coast last night suggested that there is a dark underbelly to the child beauty pagent scene. He suggested that some people who hang around those pagents, including parents, use kids sexually. He said the garrot around the child's neck and the way she was posed with it suggests an S&M scene that got out of hand. He doesn't think the child was killed at the Ramsey house, but her body was brought back and the scene staged to cover up the S&M/child abuse stuff.
Like many other theories of this case, it's a plausible scenario, and it would certainly account for a lot of the peculiar unanswered questions.
I had a similar thought when reading more details about Tracey on another thread. He sure seems obssessed with the Ramsey case.
I still don't see any ritualism aspects. What ritual? Are there a whole string of beauty pageant S&M killings that we haven't heard about?
Get your facts straight.
Huh?
Thanks. I didn't listen to the show and my mind was wondering from where the "ritally murdered" emerged.
I'm only relaying what the guy on Coast-to-Coast said. What little I know of S&M, there are ritual aspects to it. Either that, or ritual might not be the best description. The guy on C-to-C did not use that word when discussing his theory. BTW, according to his theory, JonBenet's death would have been an accident during a session that got out of hand.
I'm also not saying the guy is right, only that his theory is as plausible as many others.
You're welcome, onyx. His theory does have plausibility, and it does account for some of the strange unanswered questions. But I'm not endorsing this guy's theory, merely relaying it.
Thank you. I know you are merely relating what you heard. I wish I would have known about the segment. I can get C2C online.
When I need something to lull me to sleep, I turn on C2C, LOL! About the only time it has the opposite effect for me is when they have that strange loudmouth, Richard C. Hoagland, on. Or when Noury, a raging Leftist, starts bashing the President.
At the time of the murder, stylized torture, rape, and simulated murder of children was readily available on the web. Her state when they found the body was as if someone performed the murder according to these photos.
Are there other child rape/murders of this sort? I suspect there are, but we do not here much of them. That is also why there is much speculation about the Polly Klaas murderer corresponding with the man that has confessed this crime. It begs many questions about who else might have been corresponding and why the police were not interested in following these leads at the time.
Are the police protecting someone? Are they afraid of someone? Are there many people involved?
I hold your same opinion on both persons you named.
He seems in this to his eyeballs doesn't he?
:)
Given to him by a guard.Guard confessed.
"Why bother? He's sentence to DEATH. Let him die."
This never did make a bit a sense to me. Sometimes spend big bucks to make a prisoner healthy and then kill him. No body parts either.
Doesn't sound like it.
Sounds like Singular. Was it Stephen Singular? Sorry, I'm reading from the bottom of the thread and haven't seen the name yet.
Leave a leghold trap and a landmine in the cell after it's searched.
