The BBC quoted an anonymous police source as saying a suitcase holding
"everything you would need to make an improvised device" had been uncovered in a stretch of woodland in High Wycombe, 30 miles northwest of London. The wood is near the home of one of two dozen suspects arrested Aug. 10 in connection with the foiled bomb plot.

One anonymous source is as good as the next, even if it is from the BBC, I guess. so here this is.. for your consideration.

That's one of those unsourced "facts" that sounds so true that it sets off the BS meter. It would be nice to know how it was found, in the open, hidden, or possibly weatherproofed and buried.
I think that the odds are it is true especially if it was well hidden. I don't think they would just run out into the woods and chuck it while the hammer was coming down. British evidence rules are not the same as ours, so there may be good reasons why they are very tight lipped about what they have. If I remember correctly, it is near impossible to hold someone without proof that they are guilty, because at trial you basically have to prove your innocence. They may continue going back to the judge and asking for extensions until the evidence is overwhelming before officially announcing many of the details.
