Actually I understand it very well. For one thing it's not actually you that owes the gas tax, it's the gas station that owes it, they pass the costs on to you because they aren't stupid but they're the ones actually being taxed. For another even if you were the one actually being taxed since the gas station is collecting the money, and since the gas station isn't a federal government representative, it still wouldn't be DIRECT interaction between you and the federal government.
And lying about how you're insulting me is the really moronic thing on this thread. Man up, if you're going to insult someone don't be a whiny bitch when confronted with the fact that you're insulting someone. Here I'll show you how it's done, when I called you a whiny bitch I'm insulting you, it is also an apt description given how much you're whining, but it is most assuredly an insult.
It's only a liability inbetween when they sell the gas and they pay the tax, it's also an expense. If you want to get all accounting on it I'm more than able, when the gas is sold they're going to increase their expense account on the tax and increase their liability account for storing that tax debt, when they pay (monthly, quarterly, whatever time table they've established) they'll decrease the liability and decrease cash, in the end the expense balances with cash (as they always are) but since they obviously won't be paying the goverment the minute the sale happens it has to have a lay over in a liability.
No it's passing on the cost of the tax to the customer. What businesses always do, otherwise they wouldn't be profitable. But legally they are the ones being taxed, not you. You can tell this because even if they don't pass the tax cost on to you, which they can do if they want to, they still have to pay the tax. Thus they are the ones being taxed, and it is not a direct interaction between you and the government. The only problems here is your inability to understand what an indirect object is and why it's an indirect object.
No, she's Sleepy.
No that old style GAAP, that's always been GAAP and always will be GAAP. It's not a liability that doubles as an expense, read the next sentence. It's a cost that winds up both as a liability account and as an expense account, which happens whenever you use accrual rather than cash basis.
Sorry the cost is passed on to the customer as it's a tax on the selling party, it really is that simple.
>>I seem to remember something about getting the government you deserve.
And getting it good and hard.
You really are sad, once again shown to be wrong you once again resort to the pathetic whiny insults. It's not an escrow transaction, it's a recognition of impending outbound expense that hasn't been paid yet, that's all, simple stuff and the fact that you don't understand it shows who the moron is. I lead the GAAP complaince team on the accounting software package I worked on for 4 years, I had CPAs tell me I should take the certified auditor exam. You're wrong, again, and all the insults you throw do nothing but show you know you're wrong and you're not man enough to admit it. Which you'll probably prove again by insisting you're not really insulting me.
I'm not trying to treat a liability as an expense, and it's been explained to you twice, STOP LYING.
And it's not direct interaction, the gas station doesn't work for the government and you aren't the one being directly taxed.
And there you go with more LIES, calling somebody a moron is an insult.
That's it, you've now established that you're a serial liar, and insulting jackass, and not man enough to admit you're wrong. We're done. I won't be reading any more of your lying insult bullshit anymore, so don't waste the bytes you lying worthless sack of shit. Now that's an insult, and not changed by the fact that you indeed are a lying worthless sack of shit.
