NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.
The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.
It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.
"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.
"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."

It would be great to see the ad. I'll might remove some folks from my "don't see, don't buy, don't rent" list.
I will FRAME that page for my den : )
I knew Hopper, Stallone, Willis, Woods and Heaton were Pubbies.
Thought Don Johnson was a Dim, but he grew up in our part of the country. Perhaps he still has some Ozarks' common sense.
"But W. is still a moron who needs to be impeached and we should get out of Iraq right now."
My, my...
And I thought common sense couldn't exist in LalaLand...
I have 2 conservative friends in Hollywood who "screen" and critique new films for me . I watch 1 or 2 out of 10.
The movies will still be dreadful, as a whole. : )
I am AMAZED. I mean shocked.
I will put these on the list of 'actors I will support with my hard earned money".
A lot of different articles are being sourced from the same article (the tip off is Nicole Kidman being the "big name" that leads the report; made sense in the Australian article I saw).
Funny thing is it was a full page ad in the LA Times.
I guess print newspapers are dead (or else the Mass Media wanted to overlook this bit of Hollywood taking a stand).
AP? Reutuers? What say you? Hollywood calls Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists. You aren't pulling the wool over everyone's eyes.
Am I missing something? What is the big deal. They are stating the obvious without supporting the means to stop terrorism. Aren't most of the signees against the WOT? This is not a courageous stand IMHO, just another method of getting publicity.
James Woods is a radical libertarian conservative.
Danny DeVito???? I thought he was a raging lefty.
In the wake of pro-Hezbollah and pro-Hamas rallies in America AND Michael Moore's Lebanon distribution/marketing deal with Hezbollah for Fahrenheit 9/11 (back in 2004), this IS a stand.
And there are a number of conservative Republicans on that list even if Dennis Hopper represented the counterculture for years. For what it's worth, Bruce Dern played in a lot of the same doper films but was an athletic runner, not a druggie. I don't know when Hopper's conversion came but get cleaned up in the 1980s.
I saw some names of people who I'm pretty sure are big WOT supporters -- James Wood, Stallone, Willis, Patricia Heaton (she supported Dubya anyway).
just because they're against terrorism doesn't mean they are republican
isn't that haim saban billionaire one of the guys with geaorge soros who funds alot of money to moveon.org etc.....
Amazing what catching the mass media pushing antisemetic pro-terrorist propaganda can do when it is exposed that the images we are being shown are fabrications.
Can't speak for De Vito or anyone else but Bruce Willis is a Republican and James Woods is a libertarian conservative. Michael Douglas? Isn't he a hard lefty or am I confusing him with someone else.
Quick, someone post a Katherine Zeta Jones picture! WooHoo!
