Yes, you're right, the blue tongue is a dead give away. It would make sense that a Chow mix would kill other dogs, too. My grandparents had a Chow once, that they adopted because the owners couldn't handle it. My grandfather had to have it put to sleep because it was so vicious. It tried to attack every dog it saw, including a former Nazi trained German shepherd that a neighbor had brought home from the war.
