Statement of John Ramsey on Today's Arrest in Connection With the Murder of His Daughter, JonBenet Ramsey Wednesday August 16, 5:20 pm ET
ATLANTA, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is statement of John Ramsey on today's arrest in connection with the murder of his daughter, JonBenet Ramsey:
"I want to have only very limited comment on today's arrest because I feel it is extremely important to not only let the justice system operate to its conclusion in an orderly manner, but also to avoid feeding the type of media speculation that my wife and I were subjected to for so many years," said John Ramsey. "I do want to say, however, that the investigation of the individual arrested today in connection with JonBenet's death was discussed with Patsy and me by the Boulder District Attorney's office prior to Patsy's death in June. So Patsy was aware that authorities were close to making an arrest in the case and had she lived to see this day, would no doubt have been as pleased as I am with today's development almost 10 years after our daughter's murder. Words cannot adequately express my gratitude for the efforts of Boulder District Attorney Mary Lacy and the members of her investigative team."

"The Ramseys and I have been totally amazed and impressed with the professionalism of law enforcement under the direction of Boulder District Attorney Mary Lacy. This was obviously an incredibly complex task but one that has been carried out in almost textbook fashion with the investigation of this individual going on for several months, without any leaks in the case," said L. Lin Wood, attorney for the Ramsey family and a partner at Powell Goldstein in Atlanta. "I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the many people who have stood by the Ramseys, believing in them and their innocence throughout these long and difficult years."
John Ramsey will not be providing any interviews at this time. Requests for future interviews should be directed to Lin Wood, attorney for the Ramsey Family.
Those poor folk were BUTCHERED by the mediaWHORES day in and day out for 10yrs...I pray and hope those presstitutes get theirs in the after life if not sooner!!
Good statement.
If this arrest pans out, the Ramsey family is due some serious apologies. A little butt kissing may also be in order. But I doubt the idiots in the media who put this family through the ringer will even bat aneylash.
That's right and even on Patsy's death bed they were still being butchered. May they all rot in the fires of hell.
It's sad that Patsy didn't live to see the real murderer caught.
"Presstitutes" Good one! I'll have to remember that.
I, for one, am one of those who owes this family an apology. With only access to the limited facts, I had them tried and convicted in my mind.
I don't just blame the media, I blame all the people who were (and still are) so quick to blame them based on their pathetic assumptions about the family's lifestyle.
I think the Ramseys case shows that just because you "lawyer up" doesn't indicate a guilty mind. You give the cops all you can in one or 2 interviews, then shut up.
I will reserve my opinion until law enforcement here in the U.S. actually indicts this person and a statement from the local prosecutor follows up with the basic reasons for charging this individual.
John Mark Karr...a school teacher!
good for you.
And many experts say she didn't write the letter.
Why would someone who killed the girl in the basement leave an elaborate ransom note claiming to be Phillipino terrorists asking for a specific amont of money equalling John's work bonus?
Strange.
there is no proof Patsey wrote that letter and I think at this point anymore bashing of the Ramsey's is rediculous.
maybe to throw off authorities. most thought it was patsey, but maybe someone else semi intelligent made the effort.
