Stewart McKinney contracted HIV/AIDS during heart surgery where he was given blood from an HIV infected donor. That does not make him a despicable person, if anything he is a victim of the Left's unwillingness to fight HIV/AIDS in an politically incorrect fashion. (IE. Banning Homosexual Men and IV drug users from donating blood or quarenting HIV positive infected persons)

There is no guarantee a independent Joe Lieberman would not flip flop on his views once he is elected again. He has dont it before, imagine this.. newly independent elected Senator Joe Lieberman calls for Rumsfeld resignation for his handling of the iraq war. A ultra lib like Joe is most certainly ain't no Zell miller.

Allowing Joe to portray himself as a centrist with GOP help will allow a whole lot of dems associated with Lieberman to define themselves as centrist, considering the next Presidential election , it is not worth it for the republicans to get behind his candidacy.

A vote for Lieberman is a vote for a left wing democrat. I don't smoke crack because it's safer than heroin, and I don't vote for Lieberman because he's less loony than Lament. They're both still liberals, only a few degrees separated.

There are certain things I support, (actually only one) that Lieberman also supports. Lamont, and his family before him, actively work against everything I believe.

I have to admire your stand though. Sort of like the guy going in front of a firing squad and turning down the last cigarette, because it's bad for his health.

I luckily am in a state (Texas) where the Conservative/republicans will again win big. So I of course can pontificate. Unfortunately I am in a congressional district, where a Republican won't even bother running. But then, Henry Cuellar even though a Dem, is not that bad. Won't vote for him, but, he's uopposed.

Now then, Ciro (Zero) Rodriquez D. who lost his seat to Cuellar is going to run against Henry Bonilla R., since redistricting gerrymandering might have created an opportunity . I will have to go next door and volunteer for Bonilla.

Anyone from ESPN a republican? I think they are there in Bristol.

I doubt it. Remember, that's where Olbermann came from.

Your analogy is totally invalid.

1) Joe is solid on the WoT and, since he was NOT willing to flip to get re-elected as a RAT, will not change his view after re-election as an Indy.

2) No one is portraying Joe as a Centrist. He is accurately being portrayed as a Non Nutball. Big difference.

I do not want to see an official endorsement just votes for him because of his disruption of the enemy and support of the President.

His voting record alone makes him despicable.

If you choose to believe his self-servng propaganda, feel free. His widow is a major heir to Proctor and Gamble and could afford a lot less negligent medical care than that. Stewart McKinney was a pro-abort, pro-homosexual left-wing social revolutionary phony and about as Republican as John Lindsay or conservative as John Anderson.

If you have actually been able to bring yourself to believe the late Stewart McKinney, can I interest you in a bridge connecting Brooklyn and Manhattan? Good price, cash American (small unmarked bills), quit claim deed and think how much you can make by setting up your own toll booth!

Today's Quinnipiac University poll shows Schlesinger at a stunning 4% (yes that is four percent!!!! for those in Rio Linda or Greenwich) and Lieberman getting 35% of the Demonrats and 75% (yes seventy-five percent) of Republican votes. Lieberman and Jodi Rell should do joint appearances and they will set new records. Howard the Scream Dean will perish, choking on a mega YEEEEEEEEEARRRRRGH! Traitor John will resign his Senate seat and move to the Left Bank.

If Chafee lost the primary and ran as an independent, Democrats would cite him as an example of the Republicans purging moderates and not being "inclusive."

Gee if Schlesinger confessed to murdering Jon Benet he would probably be more popular than he is. He may try it.

I've seen 2-3 polls within the last few days marking the "R" candidate with less then 10%.

I'm sure some of the vocal few here are horrified at the numbers.

America's security before party or conservatism? :::gasp::::

What bad conservatives/Republicans we must all be! We should be more like the Democrats that kicked Leiberman out. Yeah, that's the ticket. Partisanship and ideology before immediate survival! WooHoo! Sign me up!

Why, choosing to strike a crippling blow against this country's internal enemies (KosKooks/Moore/MSM/kerry/etc...) and supporting a Pro-American vs. a vanity vote for a candidate that won't win. The decision to make is so obvious, of course door number two! [disgusted sarcasm]

Please. Someone verbally slap me should I EVER allow partisanship and domestic policy disputes to lead me to support ditching the pro-American candidate just because I disagree with them otherwise 99% of the time.

There are so precious few Pro-American candidates on either side these days, most are simply shifty politicians with no core beliefs or allegiance to this country, I appreciate the rare soul that is.

I try to practice what I preach. I didn't praise the courage of Blair, Hitchens, Koch, Miller, Silver and more cynically. And, forget what I said before about sending money if it looked like he needed it. The few folks here that can't see beyond a damn "C", "L", "D" and "R"..who are incapable of supporting the big "A" (That's America) first have convinced me to put up money where my mouth has been. No, I don't think he needs it. But I want my name logged as an AMERICAN who put her country first.

And, for those that can't deal with that, here's something to calm your blood pressure a bit. Joining that donation will be a donation for Santorum. Also one of the few politicians that GETS it on this war and has the guts to tell it as it is.
