My brother had two friends who worked for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. One of them had moved on to a new job just a few weeks before, and the other one overslept on 9-11.
If you want on or off my aerospace ping list, please contact me by Freep mail.
Based on the floor he was on, he most likely died when American Airlines flight 11 hit the building.
Before my company moved from mid town town Manhatten (45th and 6th) to Memphis, some 20 years ago, I commuted to NY from New Jersey and became friends with several people who worked in the WTC, one of which was a senior IT executive with Morgan Stanley. For five years I've been afraid to check to see if they still worked there when 9/11 happened or if they survived. I don't know if I'll ever have that courage. Until I check they are still "potentially alive," ala Schrodinger's Cat. I'd rather not "collapse that state vector."
I know. I'm a coward.
However, I'll know we've won if someone does a true story of Rick Rescorla. Then I'll have the courage to look for my friends and to accept whatever I find.
Thanks for the ping (and a pat on my own back for one last FreeRepublic check for the night). Caught the last 2/3rds, ie the good part. Thanks, again!
