Ohio Candidate Charged With Domestic Violence
An Ohio congressional candidate (Stephanie Studebaker) has suspended her campaign after she and her husband were charged with domestic violence.
A statement on Stephanie Studebaker's website said she's suspended all her campaign activitites because of "personal issues."
Studebaker and her husband, Sam, were booked Sunday morning into the Montgomery County Jail in Dayton after police answered calls about a fight in their home.
A STATEMENT AT HER WEBSITE http://www.studebakerforcongress.com/
Welcome, For Immediate Release: August 15, 2006
At 4PM, Stephanie Studebaker released the following statement:
"After deciding to focus my efforts entirely on my family, I am withdrawing my name from the ballot as a candidate for Ohio's Third Congressional District, effective immediately. Ohio families are ready for a change, and this is a seat Democrats can and will win in November."
ummmmm...thanks Dane....
How do you KNOW she isn;t a Meth head?
She looks like she's doped out of her gourd.
On another note, I wonder just how many Dim candidates are campaigning while doped up? I bet many are..
I mean, how could you drink the Kool-Aid otherwise??
sorry
This thread will turn into an embarrassment.
I'm out.
"So of course you just HAD TO post it like it was fact...."
I apologize.
I was ASKING if she does Meth....you said she DOESN'T!! Please don't accuse me of what you did.
99% of people don't do meth, but people immediately put it on the forum that they do.
It's on you not me. Keep making your assumptions.
Who cares?
She's out of the race.....
See her letter at post #39.
A true leftist.....and the spin to go with it. O'Reilly calls that "drinking the kool aid."
Oh man...she's WORSE than a meth head could EVER be....she's a Soros slave.
Aw come on. All these two need is to 'come together' and 'discuss' their differences and 'reason' themselves to a solution. It's simple really. You know. Just like we should be doing in the Middle East.
I'd bet on a divorce in the offing, but that's just a guess. Marital counseling actually does sometimes work.
With this splattered all over the papers, I hope they don't have any kids.
I'd also bet that she moves to a new location.
WSJ online has just reported its the husband with physical injuries.
She's out of the race.....
I think a lot of people care.
She is the typical DUmmie( not a perjorative term, but one that describes someone who follow DU)
There has to be something up here for her to drop out. She was also charged with domestic abuse.
My speculation and that's all that it can be, but also quite plausible, is that she had started an affair with a NOW type activist from her campaign and the situation brought trouble to the Studebaker's present domestic situation.
My theory is that they had long-standing marital issues that boiled to the surface pretty often. This time it got out of hand. One wonders who the stress was hardest on. The phone call would have been intentional to make the stress (the campaign) go away.
This seat, incidentally, was a solid Democrat seat under Tony Hall for 22 years. This was a big loss for the democrats. She probably did have a shot at winning it.
I agree, it's a sad situation all around, and I hope there are no kids that have go through the stress of a parental breakup due to believing 100% in the soros/michael mooore/DNC lunacy.
Studebaker ran as a "citizen legislator," and most recently made an appearance Aug. 9 as the keynote speaker for Wake Up Wal-Mart's "Change Wal-Mart, Change America" bus tour stop in Dayton. She advocated a quick and honorable end to the war in Iraq and argued that Turner had done little to prevent massive job losses to the Dayton region.
Studebaker previously served as Howard Dean's communications director in Ohio in 2004. A veterinarian, Studebaker earned a softball scholarship to Ohio State University and went to the Olympic Trials in cycling in 1988. Later, she started an issue advocacy group called Wake Up, Ohio.
Sam Studebaker ran track and field for Northmont High School and ran cross country at Wright State University.
They have two daughters.
...Deputies' report
Sheriff Dave Vore said deputies responded to a report of domestic violence at the couple's home in Washington Township.
"Upon arrival, deputies observed evidence there was a physical altercation between the two subjects," Vore said.
Sam Studebaker, 39, told deputies "his wife had been beating him," and had marks on his right upper arm and right upper back, according to the incident report. His wife told deputies he had hit her, and she had marks on her right upper arm, the report says.
Both spouses signed domestic violence complaints against the other, police said. Police said neither required medical treatment.
Police received 911 calls from a man identifying himself as Sam Studebaker's father, who said his son called him and asked that he call police, and from Stephanie Studebaker, who said her husband "is shoving me around," according to recordings of the calls.
She said the couple's two children were in the house at the time.
