One certain casualty of a John Kerry victory would be U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie, a Republican who was named to the post by President Bush in 2001. Traditionally, federal prosecutors serve at the pleasure of the President, and Christie would likely resign his post next year if the Democrats capture the White House. U.S. Attorney is essentially an appointment by the United States Senators of the President's party; if Kerry is elected, Jon Corzine (who may be running for Governor in 2005) and Frank Lautenberg -- if the two can agree on a choice -- would make their recommendation to the White House.

She would have been the perfect fit.
I called Menendez office this afternoon and asked if he was going to bring her to D.C. to join his staff since they shared the same ethics.
