Yes. And Teddy was a 'man's man' and a moral man.
None of these men were 'hunters' in the classic sense - they were intellectuals and artists.

This article has nothing to do with Christian men, moral men or honest men in general who care about their women
Its about self-doubt, self satisfaction, insecurity and addiction.

Actually- if you think about it -its not about 'risk takers' as it is indifference to others.

There's nothing brave about taking risks with other peoples hearts.(Jackie Kennedy)

This article was clearly written to ease the consciouses of make men who can't keep it in their pants.....
and Darwinize personal relationships.
We are just animals after all.

Its very convenient that whenever people try to compare human relationships to the animal kingdom they never seem to choose those other creatures who mate for life.

I don't see anywhere in society where polygamy, serial marriage or one-night stands are of any genuine benefit to anyone except one or sometimes both/all of the people involved -- and that only *gratuitously*.

Insecure and changing family units certainly don't benefit the offspring--whether liveborn or aborted.

No doubt Mr. Morris considers himself a genius. His wife needs to have him followed.

Theodore Roosevelt was one of the most brilliant men to occupy the office of president. He was an ADD genius who wrote 30 plus books on numerous topics(and no ghost writers for him). He was an expert on birds, to name one hobby. He used several stenographers at one time to dictate his many, many letters to people. And he was absolutely faithful to both his first wife, who died young, and his second.

Mr. Adler is certainly a genius or near genius, and he has been faithful these past 33 years.

I think this article is garbage. Sort of another clintonista view of the world (you know: Clinton was such a geeeeeeeenius, he just couldn't help himself). I don't accept for a minute that either of the Clintons is a genius, but this kind of "research" has been popping up ever since they were president (remember that stuff about T. Jefferson which surfaced at such a convenient time).

The left just never quits (sigh).

"You can add Rush to the list too."

I'm not at all sure you can, actually.

This guy wrote a book years ago - The Naked Ape. He's a total evolutionist so anything he thinks has to back up his preconceived theories of man.

I think the article does have a grain of truth to it - especially the propensity to take risks. doesn't mean that the reverse is true (Cheaters are geniuses). Don't forget most cheaters don't get caught most of the time.

To become successful hunters required a new personality trait - bravery. If the primeval hunters were to survive as carnivores they had to be courageous and take serious risks. The females of the tribe were too important to expose to these dangers - their vital reproductive role ruled them out. But the males were expendable. If, inevitably, a few of them were killed, the others could easily maintain the reproductive rate of the still very small tribes. So it was the males who evolved into the pack-hunters who would become genetically programmed as risk-takers and whose job it was to bring home the bacon.

So we're supposed to excuse immoral and licentious behavior since the animals did it? Yeah, that's as good a pathetic excuse as any.

To be a civilized human means that, for the most part, you keep your animal nature in check except when threatened or hunting. Hunting provides the outlet for violence that people need.

We are not animals, we are reasoning humans with the power of self directed evolution.
