Code Pink has given $650,000 to the terrorists in Fallujah, participated in war crimes tribunals against America and has called American soldiers "killers" on their website among many treasonous actions. They display signs like "Maimed for a Lie" at Walter Reed Army Medical Center where wounded troops are healing.

Talked to my brother-in-law and he tells me he sat at the Irey booth from 8:30 to 5:30 today at the Washington County Fair. He handed out shooting targets,ballons and T-shirts. He tells me the people were about 90% for Irey although some of the people did not live in the 12th district. Two old timers (Democrats) argued with him in favor of Murtha. He told them he was not there to argue. So most of the folk were in favor of Irey. My feeling is it is going to be a tight race. This is good considering Murtha has been a shoe-in for years. Plus he saved me a Diana Irey T-shirt!

This is an excellent essay, and I have a question.

Toward the beginning, the authors say It is also telling that Murtha will not sponsor the Stolen Honor Bill, which would protect the honor of those who have truly earned their medals from the phonies who didn't earn theirs

I genuinely suspect that there is something to this - - that Mister Murtha may be wearing medals for which he has little genuine claim.

I sincerely hope that the IPWGOP is following through with a thorough investigation because a fraudulent claim to a military decoration by Mister Murtha would super-resonate with the voters.

While chairman of the Defense Committee (1991-1994), Murtha oversaw the reduction of military spending. It is also a sad state of affairs that the lobbying firm run by John Murtha’s brother hauled in $20.8 million from the 2004 Defense bill alone because of Murtha's connection (LA Times article, June 13, 2005).

My My, what a coincidence.
