NRO: Survey Shows Many Are More Loyal To Fellow Muslims Outside U.K.

The recent homegrown plot in Britain to blow up transatlantic flights will intensify the fear that the country's 1.6 million Muslims are rejecting political tolerance and free speech for a violent, radicalized version of Islam. There is a real concern that British Muslims do pose a threat to that country and its traditional values. So how prevalent are such radical views among British Muslims?

Some answers are provided by the most comprehensive survey to date of Muslim opinion in Britain. The results from NOP Research, broadcast by Channel 4-TV on August 7, are startling.

Forty-five percent say 9/11 was a conspiracy by the American and Israeli governments. This figure is more than twice as high as those who say it was not a conspiracy. Tragically, almost one in four British Muslims believe that last year's 7/7 attacks on London were justified because of British support for the U.S.-led war on terror.

The 40% that are not fanatics are either living in Third world areas (those being killed in the Sudan are majority Muslim, as one example), are thoroughly intimidated by their neighbors (the "moderates" in Britain and elsewhere), or are the minority speaking out (the Bali bombers are scheduled to die).

I agree. Western countries who have allowed uncontrolled immigration of Muslims created their own problems. They live together in neighborhoods, most of them on public assistance and have nothing to do but complain and gripe about their host countries.

Everyone should rent The Hamburg Cell and see how a non religious Muslim who goes to Germany is seduced by radical Islamists and becomes a murderous whacko. He was the pilot of United 93. His uncle who was more secular said the strain of Islam he was involved with wanted to take them back to the middle ages except for their guns and they love their guns.

Glen Beck addressed the religion first issue quite well. He said, he puts religion first too. But his religion tells him to obey the laws of the land. islam tells muslims that the law of the land is for infidels and that sharia law is the only real law. Thus, islam is a religion AND a political system.

Has similarities to the arguments against Judge Moore(?) putting the Ten Commandments up in his courtroom. Assuming of course the Judge meant the Commandments as superseding law.

You think displaying the 10 commandments is bad?
You think we should accept sharia because we accept the 10 commandments?
